15 Best Iced and Cold Starbucks Drinks Ranked

Summer is coming, the coldness of winter is receding, there’s a lot you can start looking forward to but the best part?

Iced Starbucks drinks!

Ok, that’s maybe not the best part of summer but I love it, and there are so many different iced coffees, cold brew coffees, iced teas, and iced everything else to try that it’s hard to know where to start.

That’s where I come in.

I’ve gone through the whole Starbucks menu and I’ve picked out all the best iced and cold drinks you can buy. These are just standard drinks, no Secret menu additions so that you’ll be able to walk into a Starbucks and just order.

I was trying to decide how to rank them down the top 15, but since it would just be my opinion I thought ordering them by calories in a Venti is the fairest way.

But all of these are delicious enough that I would and do happily order them.

Check out the table below for the rundown, I’ve included the calories and the caffeine in each of them if you order a Venti, plus whether they’re coffee-based or not.

Or did you know you can buy an eight-pack of Starbucks Nitro cold brew on Amazon? There are a few different flavors including vanilla sweet cream and they are the absolute best to have in the refrigerator at home. Crack a can on your way out for sweet Starbucks goodness at almost half the price.

    1. Mango Dragon Fruit Starbucks Refreshers Beverage

Mango Dragon Fruit Starbucks Refreshers Beverage

If you haven’t tried any of the Starbucks refreshers before then you definitely need to, they are delicious, generally low sugar, low caffeine, and yes very refreshing.

If those were all the wrong words for you and you want a bigger pick me up then keep on reading.

This is the ideal summer drink and I’m happy it’s top of this list because it’s an iced drink that tastes tropical with the mango and the dragon fruit. The fruit makes it taste sweeter and the dragon fruit pieces make it that little bit more special.

It’s still, hand-shaken and a fast track to a summer feeling, go order it and enjoy!

    2. Iced Guava Black Tea Lemonade

This must be made with just a little bit of tea in it because it’s only got 40mg of caffeine which is the lowest on the list that isn’t zero.

It’s not fizzy which I thought it would be because it’s lemonade but it’s extremely refreshing because of the lemon flavor making it an excellent summer drink. Or if you’re lucky enough to live somewhere with endless summers it will be a good choice all year round.

This is sweetened with liquid cane sugar which gives it a slightly different sweetness across it that goes really well with the tea flavor.

A great choice I’m happy to have near the top of this list.

    3. Iced Chocolate Almond Milk Shaken Espresso

This one is vegan-friendly with almond milk but is a delicious choice for vegans, vegetarians, and carnivores alike.

Chocolate and coffee are always a great pairing and the chocolate is actually a chocolate malt mix which gives a really nice richness to the whole drink.

It’s usually made with the blonde espresso but you can get it with regular if you prefer, the blonde roast is a lighter flavor which stops it from getting too overpowering as a drink but also gives you a little extra caffeine boost compared to the normal or dark roast.

Plus the almond milk keeps it lower in sugar and calories.

    4. Iced Matcha Lemonade

If you’ve never tried matcha it’s worth ordering a small size, because it isn’t for everyone but it’s popular enough to be in Starbucks cafes all over the country so you can trust you’ll probably like it.

An earthy tasting ice drink that’s got the zing of the lemon to balance out the green tea and plenty of sweetness from the lemonade to make it taste good.

A little less caffeine in it than an espresso so you’ll still get a little woken up from it as well which is a bonus.

But my favorite thing about this is you get to order a drink that’s bright green, an experience you don’t get very often but which is entirely delightful.

    5. Star Drink

Starfruit and kiwi flavor, what’s not to love?

And this drink isn’t on the list because my nickname used to be Kiwi but because it tastes really good.

Coconut milk makes it a little thicker and the starfruit and kiwi give it a really enjoyable and quite unusual flavor.

Plus it’s got real kiwi pieces in it which I think is cool.

    6. Iced Honey Almond Milk Flat White

Honey in coffee can seem like a strange cocktail of flavors, but it’s actually surprisingly nice. Known as cafe con Miele in Spanish honey adds a special sweetness to coffee that really highlights some of the best flavors.

And while I think 6 pumps of honey sugar syrup just seems excessive in a venti it’s still damn tasty.

I initially wondered why this was a Flat white when it’s 24 oz, flat whites are generally the smallest milk espresso drink you can buy after all. But it seems to be because it’s made with ristretto shots, rather than espresso.

Ristresso is half the volume of an espresso and poured in half the time giving a sweeter flavor that’s bolder and fruitier, which you guessed it, is a great pairing for honey.

Since this is only the second iced coffee on the list I should point out that my first run down resulted in almost exclusively coffee drinks so I decided to give it more variety and include the best of all the drinks.

    7. Pink Drink

A big deal when it was announced this strawberry refresher has a leading place on the menu.

Strawberry’s taste of summer and when they’re mixed with Acai berries the delicious flavors just get amplified.

This has a little caffeine in it, about half of that of an espresso, but I couldn’t initially see why, but it turns out the strawberry-acai flavoring they use has green coffee flavoring in it!

Which seems an odd choice but who am I to argue, it tastes great and they disclose there’s caffeine present so no problem.

    8. Iced London Fog Tea Latte

Tea lattes can be delicious, delicate flavors from a teabag, some sweetness from the steamed milk, and in this case 6 pumps of vanilla syrup to flatten all the flavors and leave you with some sweet milky goodness!

That’s a little cynical because you can still taste the tea, it’s black tea with bergamot and lavender, both nice aromatic flavors to power through the sugar syrup.

And it’s a newer drink so well worth trying out if you haven’t before, a little classier than some of the other drinks and you do feel quite fancy drinking it.

    9. Salted Caramel Cream Nitro Cold Brew

Nitro cold brew coffee at Starbucks

Have you tried the Nitro cold brew yet? You need to ASAP a whole new cold brew experience that opens up new realms of deliciousness.

Strangely you can only get the Nitro coffee’s as either a tall or a grande, not a venti. I thought this was really strange so I decided to look into it, and it turns out the Cascading foam that rolls up the coffee doesn’t work as a Venti, which ruins the whole aesthetic so they took it off the menu!

It shows the power in the old saying that “the first bite is with the eyes” they can’t get it to look how it’s supposed to so they got rid of it.

    Crazy…

The other unusual thing in this is that the ingredients state a salted vanilla syrup and caramel syrup, instead of vanilla syrup and salted caramel syrup.

Another strange one because you end up with all the right flavors, but to have salted vanilla is unusual. But to get the same flavors out to 1000s of stores is a huge task so who cares if the order is wrong because the final drink is amazing.

    10. Iced Guava Passionfruit Drink

Another coconut milk-based drink, lovely and creamy with a tropical taste with the guava and passionfruit, you’ve got a little ginger in the mix as well but it’s quite subtle underneath it all.

There’s also a pineapple flavor over it all as that’s the base of the syrup that’s used to flavor it.

Smooth, creamy, tropical, and it’s caffeine free.

    11. Iced Cinnamon Dolce Latte

    Sweet cinnamon Batman!

Again I am a sucker for cinnamon and coffee as a pairing, if you’ve never tried a dirty chai latte you definitely need to, espresso shot in a chai latte, yum.

And this is made even tastier because it’s about as sweet as they come. Dolce just means sweet in Italian, so this is a sweet cinnamon latte, which means a cinnamon flavored sugar syrup with cinnamon sugar sprinkles on top.

Plus it’s served with whipped cream on top, what’s not to like?

    12. Iced Caffè Mocha

Again, chocolate and coffee, it’s such a perfect combination, and an Iced mocha is the perfect sweet cold coffee for a hot day.

But what’s fun is that they list the ingredients as Cocoa Processed With Alkali in the Mocha sauce, and I had no idea what that could be so I did some research.

And it turns out this is Dutch-processed cocoa and what it does is remove some of the bitterness of raw cocoa leaving you with a much more chocolatey taste. So it makes it chocolatier without actually making it into chocolate, pretty weird right?

I imagine this makes it cheaper to make but it also leaves you with a great flavor and a strong bold chocolate, more similar to slightly darker chocolate that pairs exceptionally well with the coffee.

    13. Strawberry Crème Frappuccino Blended Beverage

My first ever Starbucks experience was ordering one of these, and it must have been 12 years ago which is a crazy thought!

But the fact it’s still on the menu tells you two things, first, is that it’s popular which means that second, it must be delicious, which it is!

I think the secret to this is that it’s got vanilla whipped cream on top, which you might not notice initially but is a subtle flavor addition that really brings the whole drink together.

If I’m not interested in caffeine but want something cold then this is normally my go-to order.

    14. Caramel Frappuccino Blended Beverage

      Iced frappuccino drink at Starbucks

The coffee in this comes from the instant Frappuccino Roast they use, but what can be really tasty is if you add an espresso on top giving you an extra coffee boost.

Caramel syrup blended into it and then buttery caramel drizzle on top to give you a sweet coffee caramel delight.

If you normally like an iced caramel macchiato, which I know I do, then this is a fun different version to try. Because most of the ingredients are the same but they taste surprisingly different.

    15. Chocolate Cookie Crumble Crème Frappuccino

I think we can all agree that having milk and cookies is a good time, but what’s even better? Artfully blending them to make a Frappuccino!

Ok so it’s not quite as easy as that but this is a combo of the mocha sauce and special chocolate chips blended up with milk and ice. This is then layered with cookie bits and a crumbly cookie topping together with more mocha drizzle on top.

A chocolatey sugar bomb that is personally a bit much for me but I know how popular this drink is so I thought I’d include it.

    Best Iced Coffee at Starbucks

I was tempted to make this the Iced Caramel Macchiato, it’s absolutely classic and I think one of the most popular drinks at Starbucks, but it seemed the obvious choice, I wanted to make this a list of the drinks that you might not have tried but definitely should. Which is why…

The Iced Chocolate Almondmilk Shaken Espresso is the best iced coffee at Starbucks. It’s delicious, lower in calories while still being sweet and it will wake you up.

Not what you expected right? Just trust me, you’ll try it and you’ll fall in love, the best-iced coffee at Starbucks for sure.

Best Cold Brew Coffee at Starbucks

Again, just the straight-up cold brew is a good time, especially because Starbucks sweetens it with sugar syrup. But too obvious, let’s mix it up.

The best cold brew at Starbucks is the Salted Caramel Cream Nitro Cold Brew, it looks appealing with the cascading foam and the salted caramel with vanilla makes it a delicious choice for everyone.

The salt isn’t overpowering, which I know can be the case with salted caramel, and there’s plenty of sweetness across the whole drink. Plus the coffee itself is sweeter than most iced coffee because of the nitro cold brew process.

Best Iced Decaf Drink at Starbucks

I didn’t include any of the decaf drinks in this list, there are several caffeine-free options but not any decaf versions. This was for the simple reason that you can order any of the coffee drinks at Starbucks as decaf so really the best decaf version should be the iced espresso I mentioned above. But no…

The best iced decaf drink at Starbucks is the Decaf Iced Caramel Macchiato, it’s tried and tested, it’s delicious and it works perfectly as both an iced coffee and as a decaf coffee.

Now I know I just said I wasn’t including it in this list… But turns out I couldn’t resist! It might not make my top 15 but it definitely deserves a top spot somewhere.

    Best Iced Tea at Starbucks

There are so many great choices for this category, he says like he’s introducing some sort of award… But *drum roll please*

The Iced Guava Black Tea Lemonade is the best iced tea at Starbucks, tropical flavors make it feel like summer and the zing of the lemonade makes it really refreshing on a hot day.

Everything you could want in an iced tea.

    Final Thoughts

Plenty of drinks for you to choose from! So I hope the next time you’re ordering an iced Starbucks you’ll have some more interesting choices to go for outside of your regular order.
