Taste and Flavor
This blend is perfect for coffee lovers who like their brew strong and bold. According to their website, it’s made with 100% arabica coffee beans, is their lightest roast and offers notes of toasted malt and baking chocolate. , The Veranda Blonde Roast is not as sweet as dark blends like French Roast or Caffe Verona. In fact, they describe it as “mellow and flavorful with a nice softness”. While there is a good amount of caffeine in this blend, it’s a great brew beginners can enjoy.
Is there any sugar or other ingredients in this brewed coffee?
We know, we know! When it comes to your coffee, some people prefer it black and strong, while others like it sweet and creamy. If you’re wondering what’s in the Starbucks Blonde Roast before you add your own sugar and milk. The short answer is, not much.
This particular roast is a blend of high-quality, responsibly sourced beans that are carefully roasted to bring out their natural sweetness and smoothness. The result is a brew that’s mild, yet flavorful and approachable. It’s a great choice for coffee lovers who prefer a lighter roast, or for those who are looking for that intense caffeine boost. This is definitely a personal favorite of ours.
One of the great things about Starbucks brewed coffee is that it’s a blank canvas that you can customize to suit your taste. You can add sugar or artificial sweetener, some of their seasonal syrups or ask for “room” when you order if you want to add your own milk without overflowing your cup. Keep in mind that if you ask for too much room, you’ll be getting slightly less than the 475mg of caffeine.
It’s worth noting that Starbucks Blonde Roast Coffee is relatively low in calories and sugar-free. There is a small amount of sodium (less than 10mg). This is relatively insignificant in the grand scheme, but worth noting if you’re counting your daily sodium intake. And for some reason, there is 1g of protein in the grande and venti, which was a little factoid that we did not expect to find.
You can make your own blonde roast at home
The good news is that you can easily make this coffee at home. You can get the Veranda Blend beans as whole beans, already ground beans, in Keurig K-Cups and even a Nespresso version. Side note, if you’re looking for a really strong Keurig K-Cup brew, Starbucks makes the Blonde Roast with 2x caffeine per pod. With so many options, it’s pretty easy to find right one for your favorite at home brew method. Ours is with an Aeropress at the moment.
