We are continuing to see great results with this coffee; a very good value. Scooping off the crema eliminates the bitterness.
I’m leaving my original review below, but after more recently reading ClassicRetro review and doing further research on-line, I decided to give it another try. Removing the espresso crema instead of mixing it in makes all the difference.
ClassicRetro os 100% right, in my opinion; it’s just a matter of how to set your espresso parameter settings. Now, blending this product with some Brazilian / African I’d roasted at a 20% ratio for the Colombian, the chocolate is literally through the roof !!! I dialed back my 3X bottomless portafilter basket from 24gm to 20gm with 8gm of this to 12gm of my home roasted blend of Brazil Ceratto with 20% Uganda blend that was roasted out to just the start of 2nd crack, with a 25 sec extraction in my Silvia with a preinfusion of six seconds, and the chocolate notes are literally stunning. ClassicRetro was right — it’s just a matter of figuring out the rest of the process; this is a great product and an unbelievable value if you’re willing to work with it a bit.

I’m giving this three stars simply because the refund procedure using the phone number listed was totally easy and no-hassle, even on a Sunday morning. We decided to try this because it was cheaper than the
Lavazza Dek Whole Bean Coffee Blend, Decaffeinated Dark Espresso Roast, 1.1-Pound Bag we get from Amazon and love. Maybe this product would be better in a drip brew but we are doing espresso.
Anyway, thank you, Amazon, for the no-risk opportunity to try this product and for making good on the refund. We’ll have to stick with the Lavazza and unfortunately will be discarding this product. I’d give the product itself a 2, for our brewing method, but Amazon a 5-start rating for how they made it available and also handled the results. So that’s why the overall rating is 3 stars

This coffee is wonderful it has a fantastic aroma and strong but mild flavor. I have a finicky stomach when it comes to coffee if it too acidic it will cause heartburn an lots of pain. I can drink 3 cups in the morning with no problems. I have served it to my adult children who ‘’don’t like” decaf and they had no idea it was decaf.
I have used it in an espresso machine and it developed beautiful creama and made it in my drip and it was great . I will purchase this coffee again and again.
