Well, I’ve been buying this beautiful dark roasted coffee for well over a year or so at a cost of just under £10. I’ve gone onto Amazon yesterday to order another bag and to my absolute dismay the same bag of coffee beans has gone up in price another £5. What’s going on in the world, I’m so very angry over this as even though it isn’t a full 1kg bag I dismissed that because it’s a beautiful strong cuppa coffee, one that coffee shops on the high street just can’t make the same.
Where do these people get their prices from. I loved this coffee and even used to buy my son a bag every couple of months for his bean to cup machine. I won’t be buying anymore at the prices set today, I’ll be on the hunt for another bag of coffee beans for my sage barista x

I usually get the French roast whole bean from SFB Coffee, but this Italian roast was the only one available same day, so I tried it out. I like a very French, smoky roast with absolutely no nutty Colombian flavors. This one did not disappoint, even more smoke than my much-vaunted French roast! I may be switching.

I bought the SF BAY French roast & it reminded me off SF North Beach as it had the flavor & freshness I remembered. ( I’m from SF ). The Italian Extra Dark Roast is even better, as I think it’s the BEST Italian dark Roast on the market. It should be rated 10********** instead of 5. KUDOS to the roasters for their expertise in cooking the beans JUST RIGHT. Will DEFINITLY keep buying this!! Thank you

My coffee machine grinds and brews so dosage is set but I was disappointed with this blend. It lacked any depth and just left a long bitter finish. Very average and no better than much cheaper brands in my opinion.

I was hoping to find a less expensive alternative to Starbucks French Roast and thought I would give this a try. The flavor is mor intense than Kirkland Brand French Roast but not nearly as wonderful as Starbucks French Roast. It may be the base beans or the roasting process but, SF Bay just does not give that smokey rich flavor that their competitors do. I really could care a less whether SF Bay is a fair Coffee buyer or environmentally aware company. At the end of the day all that matters is whether or not their coffee is pleasing. In my opinion, their French Roast is not terrible and is enjoyable. It’s just not awesome like SB.

I really enjoy this blend as a midday or an after dinner coffee. The beans are nice and dark with that beautiful oily sheen and grind easily in my cheap electric grinder. It has a full bodied roasted flavor that isn’t overly bitter like some French Roasts tend to be. I usually have this blend with a little cream and sugar but have enjoyed it black on more than one occasion. In my opinion, you really can’t go wrong with any of the San Francisco Bay coffees.

Been buying these beans for well over a year; my favourite roast by far outside of a local roasters ‘Amazona’ blend, and at nearly £30 bag this San Fran coffee proved way more cost effective for me! Yet, as the other reviews state, the recent price hike is quite steep. Albeit some of the best coffee I’ve had, but this price hike is unfortunate. Starting a new search for some lovely extra dark and shiny beans elsewhere to save my pennies as I begrudge spending more on something that remains the same size and quality. Shame.
