This is exactly as stated. It is made of glass and stainless steel, except the lid which is two parts plastic. The valve is steel, not plastic.
The filter washes easily with just running water from the sink.
I used just normal grind coffee grounds that would be used in a typical coffee maker. No special grind, however it does recommend course grind. I’m simply stating that regular grind worked as well.
This product is also guaranteed for life, which seems unfair to the manufacturer as it is glass and would break if dropped.

This is an amazing product made from quality materials. I’ve bought several products trying to find something like this only to be disappointed. The price seemed high until I got it and now I feel it’s definitely worth it. The metal spigot is a feature that I have been looking for and have not found. The glass is ver strong I am attest to. While washing it I lost my grip and it hit my metal sink with dishes in it as if I had thrown it. There was not a single chip or crack.
I bought 3 so I could keep cold brew, herbal tea, and caffeinated tea, on hand all the time. I was worried about the investment but I’m so glad I did it. I have already started recommending them to people! 100% satisfied but I will add this is the 1st use so I can’t speak to how it holds up with time.

I grew up in the southern US, and one of the traditions I do enjoy continuing is keeping a big container of iced tea available. Moving into a new space, I wanted something that I thought looked nice and did the job well. The spigot on this is great feature. I’ve had multiple surgeries on my wrists and sometimes struggle with heavy things. I only have to move this jar from the counter to the fridge when it’s full, and don’t need to pick it up beyond that because of the spigot. The classic Mason jar style is cute and nostalgic, and it’s actually a pretty high quality piece. I haven’t used it for iced coffee like it’s marketed for, but I do use the steeping filter when I brew my tea. There’s always going to be some tea sludge at the bottom when making that much, but the mesh filter cuts that down by a lot, making it easier to clean. I also appreciate the extra little tools it came with so a deep clean is possible without risking damage. This was on the higher end of what I wanted to spend, but I’m very happy with it.

I purchased one of this to brew cold brew coffee and after one week wanted another one to put other liquids in my refrigerator. The second one came with a faulty lid but customer service is absolutely top notch with this company minimal info and a picture they jumped right on the case. Super responsive, polite and lightning fast to solve my small issue. I highly recommend one, two or three of these units! I am very happy after a few weeks of use. They come with a wrench, cleaning brush, and all the parts needed to brew some fine cold brew!

Excellent product in terms of making really flavorful cold brew coffee. Two improvements that I would suggest— (1) The cap should have a gasket similar to that in canning jar caps, to prevent leakage of coffee while the brewer is transported to another location; (2) The spigot does drip a few drops of coffee initially after it’s turned off—the inner seal definitely needs a redesign. Some reviewers mentioned the lack of written instructions. While coffee making is truly a very personal affair, a basic recipe should be included with the unit. However, many recipes can be found online and adapted to one’s liking. My own formula is 300 grams of COARSELY ground coffee plus 3 litres of filtered cold water brewed in the fridge for 24 hours. Finely ground coffee makes a messy muddy brew, and brewing for less than 24 hours might yield bland coffee. I often leave the whole setup inside the fridge for 24-36 hours, adding more water to replace the exact amount of coffee I draw out. Beyond that I remove the filter, and find that the coffee can last up to 2 to 4 weeks!

Unfortunately, ours just cracked after a year and a half of use…probably something we did.
I fretted over buying a new one, and then stopped to think about the value of it.
Starbucks and Dunkin charge about $4. for a medium cold brew. I drink 2-3 glasses a day. In a year and a half, that would add up to about $1200 a year.
This is around $50, and I have as much cold brew as I want. No comparison!
