My only reason for not giving five stars is because they stopped offering this product in an organic version. I left them for a while for another brand that was organic, but it was just too expensive. This one is made in my home state, and I am a loyal person … therefore, I am back for good.
Greg Holland –
Coffee lover but can’t deal with acidic coffee anymore due to acid reflux.

The coffee is ok if you can get over the bland, earthy taste. I havent had many issues with bladder inflammation when I drink this coffee, so that’s why I buy it on the regular. I suffer from IC, so I have to remember to drink lots of water or else this coffee can still be irritating if I don’t.

After giving up coffee 4 years ago because I couldn’t find a low acid coffee that I liked. When I saw this brand in Amazon, I decided to give it a try and I’m glad I did. It tastes like regular coffee and doesn’t give me stomach problems like regular coffee does.

Reading the negative reviews, the major complaints are this is not a dark roast, not even a medium roast, no taste and flat at best. However if you are expecting what you will get in a normal, caffeinated coffee, of course you are going to be disappointed. Lets be clear. This is a decaf, low acid coffee.
It means if you are buying this, you are sensitive and even intolerant of acidic drinks. You are also avoiding caffeine. Decafs are always less strong than normal coffee. Less aroma and less after taste. Low-acid also means less robustness and character.
This Puroast is exactly that. Less acid, less caffeine. I have tried it and it is absolutely less-acidic and very decaf. The taste is expectedly flatter. But it is not flat and not without aroma. More importantly, it really is less acidic and is most suitable for those who are avoiding stomach, gerd and gastritis problems. It works. It is seriously better than any on the market like Healthwise.
The only con of this coffee is that the packaging does not mention who is the manufacturer. This should be mandatory for all food products and also should have information on contents. I was so concerned at first until I searched for the brand online. Just to find that it is a coffee chain in the USA. Which sort of calmed the worry of accountability. Anyway, Amazon should make it mandatory for all food products to have labels approved by the USA health authorities. This is unacceptable.

Thank you

This blend of coffee is one of my favorites to use, and it’s very easy to use in a moka pot. I’m not a super big fan of strong coffee but I find that it has the best strength for the coffee I make. It was definitely worth the amount I paid for it. Overall it was very good and it was pretty fresh when it arrived.

I’m trying low acid coffee options to combat my acid reflux. Puroast comes as advertised; a reasonably priced, pleasant tasting French (dark) roast with low acid and half caffeine. It came with a finer ground than I’m used to; I grind my own most days. Brewed just fine though. 12 oz bag goes fast.
Ginger L. Wagner and Greg –
This is a great smooth coffee. Other low acid coffees still give me a stomach ache. This one did not. I like that it not only says low acid but it gives the ph. Very important. Will definitely but again
Shelley BR –
The coffee is definitely smoother. It has a nice taste, but it’s not as good as our usual brand, locally roasted in Baton Rouge. But of course, our usual brand does not have the advantage of less acid.

My dad who is going through Chemo needed a natural, low acid coffee because regular store bought coffee was not sitting well in his stomach. This puroast low-acid coffee is just what he needed. He says the taste is not perfect, but that could also be because of his chemo.
Was a little concerned about the packaging. Most coffee packs I have bought are vacuum sealed, this one was either not vacuum sealed or a leak occurred in shipping. Have never bought from them before so I do not know if this is how their coffee normally comes or not. Either way, the coffee was still fresh enough.

This coffee is good tasting, smooth and less acidic. I still have symptoms of heartburn when drinking it so I personally give it 4 stars. Definitely give it a try!
Erin K –
I suffer from horrible acid reflux so I searched for a good coffee that was low acid. I was excited to give this one a try but honestly, haven’t noticed any difference in acid levels. Might just be me being overly sensitive, who knows. Flavour is really nice and smooth. Would I buy it again? Not for the $70 I paid for it but hey! It was worth a try!! Thanks for a nice coffee!
