The coffee maker works great, but the edges are a bit sharp and I cut myself when twisting it together to make a pot of coffee. It would be best if the manufacturer ground down the sharp edges before sending to the consumer. I’m careful now and the coffee is great!

I love it. Make sure to use very very low heat. Put in already boiled water. Don’t fill pass the valve and I noticed only 1.5 cups fills to just below the valve (I know this is a 6c pot but you can’t make 6 cups due to the valve). This doesn’t bother me cos I make latte with it & I can add hot water to my cup to make it regular coffee, so I love it.

Uns war ein größeres Volumen wichtig und haben uns sehr über das schöne Design gefreut.

I lived in Torino, Italy last year for a few months and my Airbnb came with this stainless steel stovetop maker that made the perfect cup of coffee. Italy is known for their espresso and cappuccinos and it did not disappoint but for those days that I didn’t want to take a walk to the local coffee bar or wanted a 12 oz cup of strong coffee to contemplate my morning with, the stovetop maker delivered. Even with the cheapest coffee grounds at the Supermarcato that was 2 euros for a bag, it tasted great. I recently moved where the only coffee maker around is a Keurig machine. Now I’ve never used a Keurig before but let me warn you.. if your a coffee lover DO NOT buy a Keurig. I was spending so much money on Kpods trial and error trying to find a brand that didn’t taste like muddy water drinking 3-4 cups of awful brown liquid that doesn’t deserve to be called coffee just to get my caffeine fix and still ending up at Starbucks in the afternoon with a headache. I was done after 2 weeks and I started researching for a moka pot like the one I used in Italy. Many stainless steel options on Amazon didn’t seem trustworthy or wasn’t what I was looking for. I knew exactly what I was looking for so it took some time and after reading countless reviews, articles and watching Youtube I finally decided on THE LONDON DRIP. To my surprise … it was almost IDENTICAL to the stovepot I used in Italy. The stainless steel was heavy and durable, was the perfect size came in a beautiful box with a manual – quality 100%. I couldn’t even find one like this in the shops in Italy, most only sold aluminum pots that were double the price of this one. I use LAVAZZA Torino Rossa coffee in mine and one cup made in this stovetop makes your day. Condition it first like the instructions say and keep your eye on it. It makes coffee within minutes! Unfortunately I got a work call during a brew and burnt my pot 🙁 I’m trying to get rid of the burnt smell but it still makes great coffee. Some people I noticed complained of a metallic smell. Yes the bottom case does have a metallic smell at first but that’s because it’s brand new like anything brand new it takes time to break in, and most importantly in no way did I find that the smell transfered to my coffee. Second thing I’d like to address, this is an espresso maker so a 6 cup makes 6 oz (1 cup) of strong, bold coffee. If you want a big ol’ Venti sized 24 oz cup of coffee this is not for you. I also uploaded a picture of two cups of coffee I made using the same coffee grinds LAVAZZA, one made in the Keurig with a refillable/reusable Kcup on the LEFT, one made in the stovetop maker RIGHT. Look at the difference. I’m so happy with this purchase. Well done THE LONDON DRIP, well done!

After a few times using this i am not impressed by the light colored coffee coming out. I was expecting dark rich espresso like my former moka. I will try the low heat and see if it works better. As for now disappointed. I will update if low heat resolves watered down effect.

I compared many models when deciding to try a Moka type coffee maker after trying out a friend’s on vacation. A lot of the reviews for others mention rust ranging from after a few uses to after a few months of use.

I’ve had and used this daily for about 5 months now and no rust in sight. It truly is all stainless steel top and bottom. I only rinse it with water to clean it, and occasionally wipe the inside of the top with a paper towel.

I started off with cheap Folgers I had, then switched to better coffee. I had tried Lavazza brand instant coffee on a trip to London that the hotel provided, and loved the flavor. So I tried the Lavazza Perfetto coffee. I quickly found that this coffee pot (and I suspect most of these Moka types) has problems with very finely ground coffee. The Lavazza comes very finely ground, although it is still labeled as coffee and not Expresso. However, the coffee is too small and clogs the opening where the water/steam passes to the top, causing excess steam/pressure to build, and then force coffee into the bottom section as well. I’ve had a lot of steam exiting the valve on the bottom section meant specifically to release if the pressure gets too high.

I ended up with not nearly as much coffee making it into the top, and much water in the bottom compartment mixed with coffee grounds.

I tried several different attempts/things to rectify it – amount of coffee (less and more), making sure not to pack the coffee down, lower heat/flame on my gas stove, pre-heating the water in the microwave to the point of boiling then starting from that water. None of them solved the issue.

I finally settled on using a small amount of course ground coffee (normal grind) on the bottom filter and then on the very top to keep the fine coffee from causing the top holes to plug up. This has worked, although now I don’t have the complete flavor of a single coffee (the Lavazza). But it works well enough.

I have also tried switching back to a normal machine drip coffee maker with the Lavazza, but using the same amount of water and coffee resulted in weak tasting coffee. So either I’d need to use a lot more coffee in the maker, or stick with this method.

When it arrived, the handle wobbled a little and the lid seemed thin and sat a little kinked on the top. There’s a screw to tight the handle, and I’ve tightened it, but the handle remains loose/wobbly. Just an irritation, not a problem. I did bend the lid slightly so it sits flush on the top.

This definitely wouldn’t be a good item to pack for travel – the lid would bend/break off.

But daily use at home has been fine.

Handle stays cool, no issues melting. I do, however, use a smaller 5th burner on my stove meant as a warming burner. I don’t allow the flame to be under the handle.

I let it sit a minute on a cool burner to settle. Then (just for me) I filter it. But when I was in Germany, no filter at all and soooo tasty. This is fast to make. Like really fast. Don’t walk away from burner. And Easy to clean. (That’s input). A+product and it’s not toxic aluminum.

I have an expensive top of the line espresso machine and grinder. Since getting this, I use THIS. I also just bought the 6 cup in copper color.
