This fit well on my Encore ESP and really helps me stop the large amount of retention the grinder has. Definitely get the metal lid; I can’t imagine a silicone lid would be as easy to press on, which I think would reduce its effectiveness.

The CAFEMASY Single Dose Hopper is an excellent upgrade to the Baratza Encore if you are using a single dose workflow! I have used it with both the original Encore and the Encore ESP. While it was possible to single dose with the original hopper, this is both more appealing and nicer to use. It’s made of sturdy plastic, and the metal cap at the top is substantial and nice to push on. The bellow system is fantastic at removing fines and the small retention that the Encore traps – my grinder stays much cleaner and I have yet to have it clog, which would occasionally happen with the original hopper. I was slightly skeptical of how well the bellow would work, but one puff and I was absolutely sold. This unit is also very easy to clean, which is nice since the Encore is quite static-y (even with RDT).
My only complaint, and I go back and forth a bit on this, is that the cap has a ridge that locks it into the bellow (see the third picture). This makes it very difficult to remove with one hand to insert beans. I have completely stopped using the cap and instead just take the bellow/cap off of the hopper part to insert beans into the plastic bottom part. This ridge and the cap attaching to the bellow means you could use it as a dosing cup, but I don’t really use it this way so it’s slightly annoying. This issue is quite minor, and overall it’s an excellent product.
One pro tip – the original hopper had a white vertical line to help you know what grind setting you are currently on. This single dose hopper has a small piece of plastic indicating the position, but it is black and very hard to see out of the box. I used a silver metallic sharpie to make it pop (as seen in my first picture), and it is much easier to see where my grind setting is at now.

Love this dose hopper with silicone bellow, you just measure and weigh out your coffee right in the bellow, pour it into the hopper and grind, giving a push on the bellow to push out all the coffee grinds. I don’t know if you really need the lid but for a couple of dollars more, I decided to get that one.

Like another reviewer, I found one of the tabs out of tolerance and it did not click into place on my brand new Encore. After filing the tab down a tiny bit, it fit well and seems to be functioning as expected. For the price, I’d expect this to fit out of the box.

This product with the full silicone cup (no aluminum lid) is a big improvement over all other options for the Encore. Unfortunately it did not fit out of the box because one of the plastic tabs was out of tolerance. Some filing was required to make it notch into the Encore properly. After that it worked well and does a good job clearing grinds which is important for single dosing. The full silicone cup means it also works well as a dosing cup. Applying silver or white marker to the grind setting indicator helps make it easier to see the current setting. Overall a good item and I would buy another one.

I did not expect 95% on my retained coffee to disappear. Just grind, pump this, and your done! The necessarily corrugated inside surface requires just a little bit of attention to clean. I heard complaints about the metal lid one, like mine, but I have no complaints about it. Bellows will detach from my grinder easily if knocked from the side. WELL WORTH IT !

Reduces messy stray grinds that were previously prominent when using the virtuoso. The lower profile also makes the grinder easier to use under my cabinets.
The only downside currently is that the base of the hopper retains some grind particles that need to be cleaned between beans.

It doesn’t say it works for a Baretza Vario but it works for the Encore and some sites say their inner workings are similar, so I tried it–and it works. The critical thing is the attachment point must trip the internal switch that allows it to grind. It can “fit” the hole but, unless it can sense there is a hopper present, the timer simply paces off without grinding. The Vario is now obsolete and it’s hard to find things like this for single dosing but this works perfectly.
