The taste is good, I would give it a 7/10 nothing special but good for a cup of coffee. The first thing I noticed when opening the package was the smell. It had more of a musty dirty smell rather then the fresh coffee smell you might have expected. It was even noted that when people walked into my room they normally get greeted by the smell of fresh coffee and that was absent this morning. The beans themselves seem to be misshaped, broken, smaller, or dried out. like the beans that got rejected from a better brand. None of this seems to affect the taste, but again nothing special just a normal cup of coffee.

Decent coffee. Good flavor. I have found, so far, that making it pour over style with a very slow pour seems to give it the best flavor.

Do not purchase if you are trying to make espresso. The beans are too old and poor quality to get proper extraction. I went all the down to the finest grind settings for both the internal and external settings on my Breville Barista Express and water still flowed through the portafilter like a river. Also develops no crema. The taste isn’t all too bad, so if you’re looking for coffee beans for coffee on the cheap, this is fine. Just not suitable if you are trying to make a real espresso.

I love the smell of coffee beans especially when freshly ground. These did not smell like your normal medium roasted bean. It has a burnt, bitter smell to them that just intensifies when you grind them.

To be honest, I’m not a coffee snob and I haven’t tried the other fancier brand that some of the reviews are comparing this too. But, I do like a medium roast with a smooth, not very acidic taste and this is perfect! This will be my go to coffee when I am not trying different seasonal blends!

Nice price on two lbs of coffee. I am running it with my espresso machine. The flavor is fine (in my opinion).

Have a Philips 1200 machine. It makes a good cup of the coffee or expresso settings. It also has a nice crema. It is not too oily and functions well in the fully automatic machine leaving little behind to clean.

whenever a 2lbs coffee bean bag sells under $5/lbs it’s likely the good till use date is pending.
sure enough my bag only had 4 months left… i’m used to similar bags with 12-15 months left.
i can’t be sure how much of my opinion is the coffee itself, or the fact that it’s a year in storage.
the good news is the Co2 bloom still bubbled and most listed flavor notes were noticeable.
bad news is this irregular bean blend was more med-dark that had a mild burnt flavor note,
i can’t be sure if that’s due to the roast or the bean age, so take my feedback on face value.
photo is the portion of beans i use per liter of french pressed coffee.
