Careful Shopper 0101 –
This manual coffee grinder is just what I was looking for! It has a sturdy feel, simple design AND is easy to use! The directions that came with it could have been written a bit more specific but I was able to figure out the steps to take it apart and put it all back together in a couple of minutes. I purchased this to use with my new French Press coffee pot when I go camping!

After 20 minutes of grinding beans with this, I was able to fill 1 jars worth of coffee. For people who love coffee, I would suggest going for a powered grinder instead of one of these hand crank ones. The coffee this grinder produces is extremely fine, so it wont taste great if you put it in your standard coffee maker. This is for espresso makers. Aside from the grinder its self, the stuff that comes with it, especially the two jars, are high quality.

I have no room for a nice bur grinder on my countertop. I have a small kitchen. I only need to grind enough for maybe two cups a day so the slowness of a manual grinder does not bother me. I grind espresso with it so again, Im not needing to make 12 cups for a drip pot.
I gave it 5 stars for ease of use. Setting the grind is easy as heck. Just read the little instruction booklet that came with it. It is super easy to understand. So just set the grind. Which you probably only have to do once since most people make the same style coffee everyday. Its as easy as taking off a knob and turning a little dial thing. Then you turn the crank. Easy. Manual grinders typically take a little bit to grind any significant amount. Especially if you are grinding your beans very fine like I do for espresso. The crank handle is long for a decent amount of leverage when turning. It makes it easy on the hands.
I gave it 5 stars for sturdiness. Nice thick glass jars and the plastic bits up tops seem to be made of a sturdy plastic. I suppose if I dropped this on a hard floor the plastic might crack or the glass depending on what it landed on and how it landed. It is sturdy enough that I have no worries though. I think it can take a little abuse.
I gave it 5 stars for traveling. It came with a bag. I don’t intend to travel with it but I could if I wanted. There are other better manual grinders out there for camping and things like that but you absolutely could travel with this. If you need to backpack with a grinder maybe look somewhere else for a more “packable” style. A cylindrical shape makes more sense for in a backpack than this does. But, it will still pack ok.
So I do like this grinder very much. It suits my needs and is sturdy. The long handled scoop is a very nice addition too. As is the extra jar. A good little package.

I really like my grinder. I would have liked a little more details as to what each accompanying piece did. What was the purpose of the silicone pad and the brush. I am 79 and like full disclosure it is best not to leave to my own devices🤓

I’m glad I got this grinder when I did. My wife and I just switched to cold brew coffee and we started grinding our own beans. We got the grinder just about a week before a storm took out our power for days. I’m glad we had this so we could make coffee even without power. Such a blessing when we got it. It is a little challenging to make large amounts, and there is a little bit of a learning curve to set the depth of the grind, But one you get it set it’s easy to use and just as advertised.  I was gifted some coffee beans and wanted to see how they tasted but didn’t want to buy an expensive coffee grinder so I ordered this one. It’s really simple to assemble, it comes with two jars to store your coffee becaue as you grind it goes into the jar. The only negative I guess I can give it is, it takes a bit to grind it but you can just sit there while watching tv and grind away. I do recommend it, just because it’s easy to use and priced relly well, oh and it can be a travel grinder as well because of it’s size.

Smooth out the sharp edges on the metal crank otherwise you might get cut. It looks like it was die stamped out and edge is really sharp. I took some sandpaper to it before I used it. Good product otherwise. Upgraded to an electric one due to the slow grinding time, wish it was geared. I will use this one for camping and grid failures.
