I had tried scrubbing and soaking my stainless steel thermal carafe and it never got through the cakes coffee. 1 Tbs with some hot water. Let it soak for 30 minutes. Shiny clean!

I did not use this product to clean an espresso machine, I used it to clean the inside of my thermal carafe from my coffeemaker. I could not believe how quick and easy this was to do. About one tsp of powder, filled carafe with hot water and let it sit for 30 minutes. It is now sparkling clean. The seller also used some ingenious packaging, it kept the product very secure in the box.

An absolute must-have for any espresso machine. There is no true substitute for this stuff, we used to clean out our Breville with vinegar but a small amount of this powder provides such a superior clean. It’s great for the internals and also for the portafilter, and while a bottle looks small it lasts for a long time since each cleaning requires a tiny dollop of power. Absolutely worth the money.

I bought this after reading a few recommendations on how to clean coffee and tea stains from an Ember mug. The Ember’s “eggshell” ceramic texture and pure white color are absolute stain magnets no matter how much you wash it. Mine was getting pretty gross and I was starting to resent the fact that Ember seemed to have overlooked this pretty obvious flaw.
I washed my mug, added a few grams of Urnex powder, filled the mug with 195F water, and let it sit overnight. The next morning I was shocked to see that the mug looked absolutely brand new inside. Not a single stain remained! It absolutely gleamed and now I have enough Urnex powder to last a long, long time.
Be aware that one of the primary ingredients is trisodium phosphate. There are some other heavy-hitter chemicals in it as well. Urnex is very forthcoming with safety information. I quickly found the MSDS and ingredient lists on their website. Used correctly, it’s safe, but don’t throw on a pork pie hat and pretend you are Walter White. Read the directions and follow them!

I use this to clean my Yama 25 cup cold drip brew glass. I soak it in hot water with this and it comes out spotless.

The difference is night and day.
AND FOR PEOPLE like myself who are looking for a measurement to clean 20oz tumblers.
Steps:
1) I used 1/2 teaspoon of powder in each 16-20 oz tumbler.
2) Poured hot water 170F (not necessary, just have boiler at that temp) + up to rim.
3) Wait 30min + (longer if extremely stained)
4) Rinse THOROUGHLY with water (and soap with sponge if you want) to remove residue.

I drink a lot of tea. It is difficult to get presses really clean. My son is a barista and uses Cafiza. He convinced me to give it a shot. It works great on all kinds of tea stained containers/utensils. I give them a soak and the staining rinses right off. Great stuff! The only down side…it’s a little expensive so I use it a bit sparingly.
