Been using it as a daily driver for 3 months ish. Very satisfying to use, ofc not as fast as an electric and u have to be willing to put in the work. If that’s sounds like fun, this grinder won’t let u down for pour overs and aeropress delicious coffee

We purchased this for travel but the design is beautiful and looks great on the counter. It’s incredibly solid construction with a very smooth action. Hopper holds about 25g of beans. The grind is very even. There is a very nicely made travel bag with a split pouch included. You need to unscrew the top with the grind handle fully extended and then insert the base and the handle in either side of the separation. Fits nicely with plenty of room for the cleaning tool and keeps both parts protected. Would make a great gift for a frequent traveler paired with a travel pour over.

A quick review (sort of). I had the opportunity to taste some pre-ground coffee, namely Lavazza Oro Mountain grown and it had such a rich smooth chocolatey taste and that was without any milk or sugar, I was hooked. Even though I did occasionally drink good quality instant (So I thought) and enjoyed it at coffee shops, this was very different.
So, as I was drinking the Lavazza, brewed in an orthodox method as I had no coffee equipment, I went about researching and found the guru of coffee, James Hoffman on youtube. I think I then fell in a deep rabbit hole but my rationale kept me from sinking too far, as getting into that world could become very expensive and I didn’t want that.
After watching many videos my first modest investment was an Aeropress. This works very well with the pre-ground coffee and my enjoyment went up a step. The next step was to start grinding beans myself for the truer experience (although only supermarket sourced which could be months old, ideally fresher roasted bean suppliers are the ultimate) another complex path but I stuck to my guns. After some research and advice from forums, I landed on this, the Timemore C2 grinder.
I waited for the prime sale and got this at a good price.
I understand quality engineering, being a graduate in it, and this grinder exudes quality. Even though to coffee connoisseur this is a budget tool, it feels and functions higher end. Granted I have not tried the more expensive versions but for me, this is superb in my modest world. As this is around the 3rd iteration, two non-folding prior, they’ve upgraded the adjustment dial to metal from plastic.
It’s easy to setup, though may require some testing depending on beans but plenty of information available on the internet. The aroma of fresh ground beans, wow. My level of coffee has gone up another step. Comes with a cleaning brush which is very useful, a carrying bag as its designed for travel plus some instructions.
My reason for getting a manual grinder was budget. At this sort of budget you could get a electric grinder but it would be constrained someway, mostly with an inferior motor and possibly fail early. You really have to pay much more for a entry level goof electric grinder. By removing the motor element, more could be spent on the mechanism and structure and so, we have this, especially it having high quality steel grinding burrs than faster wearing ceramic. So, very pleased with this and hopefully it should last several years or more. Perhaps at one point the burrs may need sharpening or replacing, depending what’s possible.

I really like this product – the grind is consistent and the grinder itself is beautiful. While I don’t use it when traveling I would imagine it would do fine considering the hand folds, but it does have some weight to it. It isn’t the easiest to clean and some more dryer coffees leave lots of static.
The main reason for the 4 star review is I had to send the first one that was delivered back. IT WAS USED – still had ground coffee all over it. While getting it replaced was relatively easy… ew.
Overall, the product is great.

I’ve been using an electric blade grinder for a while now and started getting annoyed with uneven grind and too fine of a grind for my pour over. I started noticing that my coffee was taking too long to brew and was over extracting the grinds. I did some research and Timemore C2/3 were highly rated for the price. No way I was going to spend $300-400 on a grinder. Well, did my first grind and brew this morning and I was not expecting it to be this big of a difference. The rate of the brewing process sped up and was nice and even. I could tell the grounds were consistent because of the way they were flat on the bottom. I’m so stoked on this, I don’t even think I’ve ever written a review on Amazon. SO YUM! Do wish this was the folding handle, but whatever, it’s super light and has a nice tote bag. Taking it camping this weekend, ahhhh 🙂

Excellent. I tried to grind the beans to make turkish coffe. I understand it was outside the product specifications, as this type of coffe is extremely fine grinded. But for all other types the grinding was super good. In a few seconds there was no resistance. The beans were completely smashed. Overall quality and performance is excellent

My coffee tastes great! Easy to use and travel. It’s perfect for 1 serving.

I recently purchased this grinder after a bit of extensive reviewing of YouTube videos and Google searching for manual coffee grinders. I just started in my coffee journey and this covers my needs: 1. Grind well enough for pour over/Aeropress coffee 2. Be compact enough to travel with 3. Not break the bank. I recently picked this up during a coincidental lightning deal here on Amazon, that also had an additional coupon offer for this particular one, so all in it was about $65. Great price point for this and although I could have gone with the standard Chestnut C2 for about or a little less than $50 with the lightning deal and added discount, I opted for the gold because of the foldable handle. Hopper fit my usual 20g dose of medium/light roast beans and initially I dialed in at 18 clicks and I found that it was a bit finer than what I got ground for me at a specialty coffee shop near by. I had asked them to grind the beans for me for pour over coffee because at the time I didn’t have this. I will have to play around and dial in to find a similar grind size as what I’m used to brewing with but the cup I made with the default setting was well extracted and the bed was relatively flat. The build of this grinder is quite well put together, the aluminum knurled body and the stainless steel burrs and handle has a good weight to it but not over bearing. Grinding time was fairly quick as I was just kind of going at a pace until I felt the handle spin freely, so I ground 20g of coffee in about 40-45 seconds. Your results will of course vary but I found that to be acceptable for me and I probably could have sped it up. Overall I’m quite happy with this purchase and definitely recommend it if you were to build out your coffee kit.
