N. Scott Brown –
We replaced our old Mr. Coffee maker because it was too cumbersome to set the timer. This coffee maker has separate buttons for the minute and the hour, which makes it easier to set and adjust the timer. This coffee maker is quicker to make a pot of coffee versus our previous maker. The time display is easier to read versus our previous maker. The only negative with this maker is that it drips much more than our previous maker when we remove the pot, even if the brewing has been done for a while. We thought Mr. Coffee had figured out a way to keep drips from falling on the warmer plate since our previous maker very seldom dripped. Disappointed to learn that they did not.

My dad has used Mr. Coffee machines since I was born (I’m in my 20s) and now I understand why. I had some fancy bean grinder coffee maker before and it was awful to clean, had so many parts, and was a little tricky to use (everything had to click into the right place the right way, at 6 am that is not fun). This coffee maker is so simple, has a reusable filter inside so you don’t have to buy filters, and has a really good quality pot. Controls are very straightforward, it has a clock for the time, and it also lets you prepare the night before and “Brew Later” so when you get to the kitchen the coffee is already made. My dad’s lasted nearly 10 years with daily use, I highly recommend as it’s affordable and quality.

Purchased for a friend, SHE LOVES IT.

I like that it is a basic maker, yet still has the easily setup brew timer.

Coffee brewer works great. The only think I wish they would fix is the water that drops down on the hot plate part. But this has been a problem with every coffee brewer I’ve owned. So I still gave it five stars. I really like waking up in the morning to freshly brewed coffee.

Not much to say, works just fine and has a timer that’s quick and easy to program.

Pros – can make 12 cups of coffee in about 10-15 minutes. Easy to clean. Reusable coffee filter (can use disposable filters too). Simple to set-up and operate. Fits great under cabinets. Four hour self-shut down for peace of mind. Can pause the stream and pour a cup out while it fills.
Cons – Sometimes, the AM/PM light gets stuck. This causes the “Brew Later” button to not brew (I set it for 6:30 AM, but when this happens, the coffee maker thinks it’s 6:30 PM). Good news is I can still hit the “Brew Now” button to get it going, though I can’t fix the clock until it’s done. I’ve had this for two months and this has happened maybe three or four times. Not a deal breaker, but something to be prepared for.

I was looking to replace our Mr Coffee maker that failed, but we couldn’t find the same model on Amazon, so figured we’d try a different model in the same price range with similar functionality and features.
There is a large hole where the basket sits for the coffee to drip into the pot, and when you lift the lid to pour the water in, all the condensation on one side of the lid pours down through that hole. I have to remember to leave the coffee pot there when I open the lid or the water pours all over the heating element and I have to wipe it off.
And because of the hole that I speak of, when you take the coffee pot out to pour coffee (after it’s done brewing) any coffee near the hole (not IN the basket) splats down onto the heating element and has to be wiped off.
It also splats coffee all over the counter when it brews.
Additionally, because it is a very high profile coffee pot with a tall lid, we cannot open the lid all the way unless we pull the coffee maker out to the edge of the counter. If you have limited space I wouldn’t recommend this because you may have to pull it out.
I will probably use it for a while before. I find a different model on sale, but definitely not a keeper.
