This little grinder does the job and more! It’s quite sturdy and feels well made for a portable grinder. The first use found it produced more than enough and was on the more fine side. After dialing back the amount of beans and setting it a little more coarse, it was good to go! It does take a little while to grind if you have it set to fine, but was much quicker when set to coarse. The charging port is on the outside so it’s quite convenient to charge, but you cannot grind while it is charging. All-in-all I’m very pleased with it and look forward to future grinds!

I am only recently into coffee. I already have a larger table top grinder but I wanted another smaller portable grinder for my specialty coffee for single cups out of Aeropress. People who have used hand grinders may know what to expect but I didn’t. I didn’t understand the number of ‘clicks’ you need to dial to get fine or corse coffee grounds. The manual was poorly translated and I was frustrated even on how to adjust the dial. And then, when I started grinding with finer settings, it didn’t work. It would auto stop with whole beans still in the container. Again I was so frustrated. Then I figured out that only after 7 clicks the grinder started working and finished grinding of all beans I put in there in one go. And then it’s the time it takes. The finer the setting, the longer it takes. On 7 clicks, it takes more than 5mins to grind 12g of beans. Ridiculously slow compared to my tabletop grinder. But after some researching, I realized that there are basically no faster options for this type of grinder. You can’t expect that a portable, electric grinder like this to grind fast as well. I learned that you can grind manually and be faster, but that’s not what I want to do. I’d rather wait. After I got used to it a bit, I appreciate its sturdiness and consistency, and built a workflow to setup my Aeropress while waiting for the grinding. I haven’t tried but theoretically I can take all my coffee equipment (including this) outdoors and have a fresh cup of specialty coffee in wilderness. So this is a keep for me.

When it comes to using a portable grinder, it’s important to keep your expectations in check. While it won’t be able to grind enough coffee beans to meet the SCA golden cup standard for half a pot of drip coffee or more in a single fill, it’s still a great option for producing finely ground coffee for a double shot of espresso in under a minute.
If you’re someone who travels frequently or has limited countertop space, a portable grinder is definitely worth considering. The grind adjustment is simple and easy to use, with satisfying clicks and a wide range of grinds.
The build quality is excellent, consisting of thick and sturdy metals, along with parts that are easy to screw together smoothly. However, it doesn’t have a window to check the amount of grinding. The charging port is located on the top of the device, along with the power button, but you can’t use it while plugged in. The device uses a USB-C for charging, making it convenient to charge with a powerbank or a regular phone charging cable and reducing the number of items you need to travel with.

This is a well-engineered coffee grinder. It works intuitively, is heavy (in a good way!) and does exactly what it says it does — deliver a single dose. I purchased it because I have very limited space, and keep my Brevelle Barista Express espresso machine filled with decaf. However, I want a leaded coffee in the morning, and needed something very small to grind once a day. However, I didn’t pay a lot of attention to “single dose.” It is exactly that. A fine, espresso grind takes about 7 minutes to complete. I always make a double shot; and that means a total of about 14 minutes, having to grind twice. This is not the fault of the grinder — if you want a single shot, it’s perfect. I definitely should have paid more attention!! Otherwise, this is a creative solution for those who are truly looking for a single shot.

I am a total novice at grinding your own coffee so I wasn’t 100% sure what to expect with this portable coffee grinder. The good news is it is fairly straightforward to use and it seems to have a lot of size options for how fine you want your beans to be ground down. (I just picked a medium size and it seemed to brew a good taste of coffee!) The product is heavy (in a good way) and feels like it is well-built. I really appreciate they use USB C so it was easy to charge along with my other gadgets.
