I work with a bunch of coffee snobs (me included), and I use this when I want a single cup for and don’t want to use our group’s larger, more expensive Chemex brewer/filter. Will this thing produce the complexity of flavors of the Chemex pour-over? No. However, for my taste, you get a decent cup with a super easy brewing/cleanup process. It’s also really portable if you’re travelling to a coffee desert and want a backup brewing option!

If you like drip coffee, this updated version of the old Melita 2 cup filter is great. It has a sensible handle and a wider brim that rests on a cup or mug. The new wider bottom is better suited to today’s larger mugs and the view opening allows a person to see how full the cup is. The only improvement I can think of is a ring somewhere so it can be hung above a sink and not take up shelf space.

I really like coffee, the fresher the better. I use my ceramic Tim Horton cup, fill with hot water, microwave for a minute.
This gets the mug hot. I pour from my Timmy cup into a second cup till the Timmy cup is empty. Then I place the brewer back on top of the Timmy cup and pour the little bit from the second cup back into the brewer. Now the Timmy cup is very hot and holds its heat longer.

Yep, my 20+ year Sears Roebuck disposal packed-up and my friend who helps with these matters was unavailable and not wanting to collect grounds from my prized Carmelita expresso stove-top — I turned to the single Melitta single cup pour-over and with Melitta Bamboo No.2 filter. Walla, after a few cups my coffee enjoyment has been re-ignited! With 2-2 tbsp. of high grade dark ground coffee the Melitta single cup pour over gladly accepts ample boiling water and allows me to see the level reached and whether I want to add more water. Indeed, I usually add a bit more water and actually get a nearly 20% more drinkable coffee than provided by the Carmelita in the same coffee mug! The Melitta filters with grounds and cleaner to dispose of than just pouring grounds down the disposal. So I quickly bought another Melitta Filter Single Cup Pour-Over Maker…and another box of Melitta single cup filters — and have treated a guest to this magnificent coffee method with a large fresh cup of superior deep roast coffee. Melitta had reinvented my daily coffee consumption and will definitely enhance the Kaffee Klutches with friends!

I was really looking for a pour over brewer to handle two or three cups with a #4 filter. the overall height falls short for adapting the #4 filter due to the uneven height. It works okay but you must be careful that the paper filter doesn’t collapse on the shorter side. For a one cup, it is perfect.

I bought this for my cold brew. I use my French press and want a better way to get sediment out. This works fine. I also use #2 Melitta filters and a Gold Tone Reusable 4 Cup No.2 Cone Coffee Filter. VERY smooth cold brew.

El portafiltro es muy bueno, produce un café muy rico en poco tiempo y sin tanta técnica. Estoy muy contento con el producto. Lo único de lo que puedo quejarme es el empacado, muy malo; la caja del Melitta llegó muy maltratada lo que ocasionó unos rayones muy leves en el portafiltro pero pudo haber sido peor.
