KitchenAid KCM5912SX Cold Brew Coffee Maker 38 Ounce Brushed Stainless Steel

The first one I purchased leaked where the spout connected to the glass. I started using it 3 months after my purchase so I couldn’t return with Amazon and had to work directly with Kitchen Aid. They got a new maker to me quickly and without hassles. I love the maker. It creates really strong coffee and has been working well all summer.

No muss, no fuss. The strainer for the grounds is excellent; not a single coffee ground finds its way into the concentrate. It’s compact so it takes up little counter space overnight. We prefer to decant the concentrate into glass bottles to save on fridge space, but the pour spout works really well, no drips. This will be our last cold brew maker purchase!

I was new to iced coffee when I bought this–this is my only experience with making iced coffee. It works well enough, but I feel like it could have been a better product. For one thing, for the amount of space is consumes in the fridge, it seems to hold comparatively less liquid than you’d expect. Perhaps there needed to be a version with taller glass. Also the spout empties from the bottom, but the bottom is not sloped as much as it could be, so getting the final mm of liquid out is difficult… and that bottom design means that there is significant wasted space on the bottom of the unit. If you dispense from inside the fridge, it seems to take too long to fill a glass… and it slows as the amount of liquid diminishes. The handle doesn’t fold to either side. This seems to have been done solely for branding reasons… the handle has the brand name on it and they want it to face forward when folded down. The top is not a perfect seal, and if you accidentally knock it you can leave a small crack for evaporation. And last but not least, while it is attractive, and feels solidly built, it also feels over priced. It would be a no brainer 5 star at half the price.

I first gave a one star rating because it leaked. However, afterwards I called Kitcheaide and their customer service was very helpful. They are sending me a new one. There are a lot of 4 and 5 star ratings on here, so a lot of people seem to be happy with theirs. I must have been one of the few to get a defective one. I am giving them a 3 star for now because of the great customer service. Once my new one arrives, I will reevaluate. The little coffee maker is easy to use and compact so that it does not take a lot of space. If it doesn’t leak, I know I will love it.

I can’t say enough good things about this product! It is easy to use and makes great coffee! My husband started using this daily and it has saved us a ton of money on buying coffee out!

New to cold brew coffee but love it. So I figured probably should try to make it myself. Looked at all the cold brewers and ended up going with the kitchen aid because it looked like it would fit in the fridge better than most. Haven’t tried any of the others so I’m not sure if my review is worth all that much, but this brewer makes real good coffee, fits in the fridge well, cleans easily and looks good. It doesn’t look big enough but you’re making concentrate so it’s twice what it’ll hold and that’s pretty good. All in all I recommend it highly.
