I had to reboot my phone to get the Alexa app to set up the coffee maker. The coffee maker does not work on a 5G WiFi network – it doesn’t even show up. Once the coffee maker was registered as a device, I still could not get Alexa to turn on the coffee maker. I decided that a reboot of my phone had had a positive effect, so let me “reboot” the coffee maker by unplugging it and plugging it back in. This worked – I could now control my coffee machine via Alexa, which appeals to my husband no end!
We set the machine on “Bold” all the time – not sure why you would ever want regular – just use less coffee if it is too strong. The coffee tastes good. The jug pours well and the hot plate keeps the coffee piping hot.
This coffee maker has a slightly unusual design, in that there is a small lid in front for adding water to the machine. The large lid at the back is there primarily to change out the optional water filter. Either way, the location of the water gauge is not optimal – it is too far back, only on the left and you need to turn the machine sideways to see how much water has been poured in (took off 1/2 star).
This machine makes no sounds – the brewing is quiet, which is nice, but there are no beeps when it turns on or off or when the brew finishes (took off 1/2 star). The machine automatically turns off after 2 hours and this value cannot be changed. I think coffee tastes terrible after cooking for 2 hours, so I transfer my coffee to a thermos flask. You can also switch it off via Alexa.
It is only “programmable” via Alexa – although you can switch it on and off manually, you cannot program the machine itself to start at a certain time; that can be done via the app. Instructing Alexa has an advantage over programmable machines, which would start at a particular time – no matter what time you wake up, the coffee will always be fresh with Alexa. Another positive is that Alexa automatically sets the time on the machine.

I am in love with this coffee maker. I previously had a Mr Coffee one, and while it was fine there were some issues that drove me crazy. This solves all of the issues I had with the old maker!
Thing I really like:
~ Did I mention starting the coffee while still relaxing in bed?!?
~ Front loading the grounds and the water. I don’t need to pull the maker all the way out to make fresh coffee.
~ The wide open water resevoir means cleaning will be very easy.
~ Easy setup. I wasn’t really sure what I was doing (I didn’t read instructions very well) and somehow still managed to set up the coffeemaker to the internet and connected it to Alexa.
~ Automatically sets the clock
~ Automatically shuts off
~ You can turn it back on to keep the coffee hot without brewing – my Mr Coffee wouldn’t let me and would shut off after 2 hours. That was way too short on the weekend!
~ The carafe doesn’t drip when pouring. Mr. Coffee carafes ALL leak or drip a little bit.
~ While it is a little more difficult to “seat” the carafe in the maker, this also means that you know it is properly placed. No more pots sitting funny which means the coffee doesn’t drip into the pot and eventually overflows the filter and makes a huge mess. If you have done that, you know exactly what I mean!
Thinks that people might not like:
~ As I mentioned, it is a little tricky to get the carafe put in place. Not exactly hard, just sometimes takes an extra wiggle.
~ The machine is very lightweight and doesn’t feel super high quality.
~ No programming for Auto Start without Alexa
~ The filter basket is very small and I find that if I make 12 cups there is too much coffee in it and it makes a little bit of a mess
~ The front fill makes this a taller coffee maker.

My husband recently bought me this coffee pot because I mentioned how I would love to just turn my coffee pot on from my bed on the weekends! I use my Alexa app by opening the app on my phone and just hitting the “on” button. I can also choose the boldness I want from the app as well. Totally worth it and the coffee is great!

I normally don’t leave reviews but I love this coffee maker! I had purchased another brand that had great reviews and it was much more expensive. It was horrible so I returned it. My daughter recommended this one and I can see why. So easy to fill with water from the front and I love the way the filter basket removes. You won’t be disappointed!

I just got it today and I have run five pots of water through there to clean it. Now it’s ready for my coffee in the morning. I did not have to read any instructions. It was just too easy to set up boxing is perfect. I got the 12 cup first of all I got the 5 cup. Oh my God that thing was so small it’s a waste of time, go ahead and get the 12 cup then that way you can make as many cups as you want but the good thing is you can lay in bed I say Alexa make my coffee unreal I absolutely love it there’s no drawbacks not at all you don’t have one get one I’ll give it a five star all day long ❤️

It makes the best coffee ever, it’s easy to use, and it never misses a beat when it comes to setting the automatic brew time. Works very well with a sliding appliance tray (sold separately). Simpler to use than a removable reservoir model. Makes great coffee, has warmer plate to keep coffee hot for two hours and is programmable.
