I like the design of this coffee grinder so much I bought one for a friend.
I hate a bad brew of coffee. I measure bottled water. I weigh the ground coffee in grams. It’s a time consuming routine. The Greater Good grinder produces a consistent grind! It’s noise level doesn’t disturb my dog. It grinds with a push of the button and stops precisely based on weight. If I failed to add enough beans in the hopper, it also pauses with flashing numbers and an “e”. I add a small increment of beans. It’s the best I have come across. I’ve once pondered on buying a grinder that does all this for several thousands dollars.
Both ends of the brush are necessary if you’ve chosen a fine grind. The handle end is perfect for unplugging the packed coffee in the conical burr holes. This has only happened to me once.
This unit is highly worth trying!

This is easily the best electric grinder I’ve seen at this price point. I’d argue that it competes with conical bore grinders in the $300-$500 price range. But as you know, the perfect grind can cost upwards of $1000+.
This grinder is easy to use. If you weigh out your coffee (like you should 😅), this lets you set the amount, hit the start button and it does the rest.
This produces a very consistent grind and taste, but you will want to clean it frequently with the brush, as the debris builds up and you will start to get old grounds mixed with the new, which becomes obvious when you switch beans.
The only thing I’m not a fan of is the way the grind size is changed. I get nervous twisting the bean hopper to increase and decrease size, as I think over time this has the potential to break if you are switching all the time.
But if you just want your morning coffee to taste consistent day to day, this grinder delivers.
That said, I primarily use this for French press and drip. I have not tried grinding espresso or other ‘fine’ settings.

I like the scale, it seems to understand how much 20 grams of coffee is a lot better than me. The grounds are even, it works fast and pretty quiet, it sounds like those battery powered milk frothers but its powerful it doesnt struggle at all. Way way better than a hand grinder, specially those cheap ones.

I was looking for a low profile, simple burr grinder and this fits the bill. It grinds well, the scale is handy and a nice plus is the non-static container for the grounds, although it could sit more securely in the machine. The little booklet is also straightforward and easy to follow. My issue (and I don’t know if it is just the grinder I got) is that the hopper is very hard to get on and off. I tried to get it off recently to give the machine a cleaning with the supplied brush and it took several tries since I did not want to force anything. I like to clean it after using darker beans and have been careful to not use oily beans which might clog and require even more frequent cleaning!

Edited to update rating. Seller reached out to see what could be done to resolve my concern.
I am impressed with the customer service of this seller and am updating to reflect. I will say that this is a really good grinder. Much better than any other grinder I’ve used in this price range. Just don’t rely on it for exact weights. It gets close enough not to waste much if you are using a separate scale to weigh accurately or if you are not overly concerned about precision. Also keep a chopstick nearby if you grind beans with any oil to help them drop when they get stuck in the hopper.
—— original review below ——
This is a really good grinder but I have checked and the resulted coffee ground is not actually by weight. When grinding 5 different times I got 4 different weights of coffee grounds. They were all within 3g when I was aiming for 41g but certainly not as advertised.
If the scale wasn’t the main selling feature I’d give this a much higher rating as a coffee grinder. The grind is consistent, it is exceptionally quiet for a coffee grinder and the static free bin is easy to empty and keep clean.
It does tend to have and issue with fresh beans which have some oil to them and require prodding with a chopstick to get the beans to drop from the hopper into the burrs. The hopper doesn’t hold as much as other grinders.
Overall I’d buy it again except for the fact that they advertise the scale and that it can be set to grind to the gram (over 5g) and it just doesn’t do that really grinds my gears (sorry couldn’t resist the grind pun).

Neither the scale nor the burr grinder proved to be precise. It works, just not as well as I hoped.

I am so pleased with this burr grinder and the flavor or my daily coffee. It arrived quickly, the packaging is environmentally friendly and the grinding guide is very helpful. I have experienced a little difficulty removing the hopper but am so happy with the precision dosing and scale to make every kind of coffee I feel like, that the inconvenience is easy to ignore.

At this price point I haven’t found anything like it. The design is as user friendly as can be and it consistently delivers a high quality grind that is a nice upgrade from my old hand grinder. Worth every penny.
