I wanted an old skool coffee with chicory, last time I had a great version was on my first visit to ‘James Dean’ a diner in Prague probably around 2007/8 – next time I went they’d changed the blend :((
This stuff doesn’t ✔️ any boxes

I have other things to spend my money on besides coffee, so my go to is Aldi’s Donut Shop for about $4.69 now. Bought this just to get my Amazon order above $25 for free shipping. Wasn’t expecting much, but I am shocked at how good this coffee is for like $5.50/12oz. Brewed my first pot and when pouring, it appears like expresso. Added my ususal amount of cream and it didnt make a dent….still black…but thats good cuz I’ll use less coffee next time. This is bold coffee, but not like a French Roast. Definate chickory flavor and very smooth. This is one that I may buy more of, regardless of whether I need it to bump my Amazon to $25 or not.

Medium roast but full-bodied of coffee and chicory blend. Glad I chose this to re-introduce me to this favorite.

I thought Katrina was the end of my favorite coffee Manufacturer but found this on Amazon recently. It is the real deal. Works in my Keurig coffeebrewer using my adapter cup just perfectly. Price is what I paid for this item until 2020 when local stores stopped selling the product.

French Market Coffee is a much better beverage in the morning than traditional coffees, most of which have a bitter aftertaste . To get the best taste out of French Market Coffee, serve it really hot! I like to test new coffees all the time, but I am going to get more of this coffee/chicory blend for myself and my office! I only use 80% as much of this blend vs. regular coffees to get the same level of taste.

Many years ago my first cup of coffee was a cup of coffee and chicory: very milky with sugar. It certainly set me off on a life of serious coffee drinking. In those days, coffee and chicory was the cheaper option; instant coffee and chicory was the cheapest option. But its milder flavour and (completely unverified data alert) lower acidity meant, at least, that you could drink it all day without losing your mind.
Strangely, today, it appears on Amazon as just about the most expensive coffee a chap can find. The current price works out at £20GBP/lb weight. That is FOUR TIMES the price of some estimable and widely available 100% coffees. You’ll think me mad, but I am still pleased with my purchase. For special occasions, and those mornings where I don’t have to rise quite so early, it fits the bill; and it’s still cheaper than actually buying a coffee rather badly made by a stranger.
My only real gripe is in the (very attractive) packaging: a ring pull cap with a re-sealable plastic lid. The plastic lid is so badly made that mine actually disintegrated on first use. At £20/lb one might reasonably expect something with a screw thread.
My ‘hack’ (as I understand we have to say these days) is to deploy an alternative lid, which can be sourced from either East End® brand butter ghee, or Geffen’s® breadcrumbs – either of which will set you back another £3.50.
As I say: very expensive coffee.

I had been reading about the benefits of chicory and wanted to give this a try. At this price point, it was worth ordering and I have since placed this coffee on subscription to get every month. It has a full, bold flavor, but not bitter and the chicory adds a peppery taste that I really like. Plus I feel like I am doing something good for my digestive system, and who doesn’t want that? The old fashioned coffee can can be used in so many ways, once the coffee is gone or simply recycle it and the lid. I am glad I gave this a try. If you have ever enjoyed a cup of coffee with a beignet, this is that coffee. Give it a try, there is so much to love!
