Elite Gourmet Automatic Brew & Drip Coffee Maker, with PaCae N Serve, ReCaable Filter, On/Off Switch, Water Level Indicator, 5-Cup, Stainless Steel, EHC9420
This is a good coffee maker but there are a few things you need to know to make it work best (IMO):
– The capacity of this coffee maker is 2 mugs which is 5 cups of water more or less. For accurate water, use the cup you’ll drink from to fill the reservoir. Alternatively, fill the pyrex from your cup to see where to fill it going forward (whether it’s one or two cups).
– This coffee maker will make just one cup but, one cup or two…
– Use a paper filter in the basket: The water comes too quickly to allow the coffee to permeate the water. As a result, you either have to use more coffee (needlessly wasteful and, even then, inconsistent) or suffer weak coffee.
Overall, this is an attractive coffee maker that works. The warming platter holds the coffee at a very nice temperature. If you use a paper filter and get your coffee/ water proportions consistent, you should be able to get an enjoyable cup of joe consistently. Bon appetit!

For years, we had a breakfast tabletop 5 cup coffee maker next to our toaster. Although the two appliances were of different brands, they appeared as a set, with matching brush aluminum finish with black trim. When our Mr. Coffee maker wore out, not heating one morning, it was time for a replacement. The new modern Mr. Coffee 5 cup models lack the aluminum trim. The Mr. Coffee 5-cup no longer came with the valve to eliminate drip, in the hanging basket for pause and serve function. So I searched for other models, and found the Elite Gourmet EHC9420, very similar in physical size with brush aluminum trim to be our next replacement. The product has a simple on/off lighted rocker switch, for control, instead of pushbutton on/off & timer controls of the Mr. Coffee. This did not seem a detriment, because I never used the timer controls on the Mr. Coffee, as it only takes only a few minutes to make coffee on a 5 cup coffee maker. The Elite Courmet also has a thermostatic hot plate to keep the coffee warm, like the Mr. Coffee. The Mr. Coffee often would automatically shut off after a period, which was sometimes annoying, but one must remember to shut off the Elite Gourmet rocker switch when service is no longer needed. I found the Elite Gourmet was easier to fill with water, with a larger unobstructed opening. Also the window on the side of the Elite is wider and easier to see the water level. The Elite Gourmet came with a removable, reusable filter. I found it to be a quite useful cost-saving replacement for paper filters. It is very easy to rinse it out under a faucet, after each use. I found the 5-cup Glass Carafe on the Elite Gourmet more balanced, easier to hold in hand, and poured better without spilling. The recess detent in the hot plate is shaped better, on the Elite Gourmet, for decanter extraction and re-insertion.

This is a reasonable value. I’ve seen them for less, but everything is inflated in price right now.
First things first, this is a 2-cup coffee maker, not 5. We’re not measuring for baking ingredients precision here, we’re measuring for the coffee cups that we all drink out of.
One standout, is that the keep-warm plate/surface is just the right temperature. I’ve had coffee machines that had a warming plate that was too hot, and it would either burn the coffee or just evaporate everything within a couple hours.
There are a couple annoyances with this.
When you open the lid, there’s condensation underneath, and if you open at a 90degree angle, it slides down and follows along the _outside_ at the back of the machine, getting onto the table or whatever surface it’s standing on.
It’s not hard, but slightly tricky to pour the water in, with the flap up, as there’s not much margin for error in there.
When you first pour, the hot steam pushes out the back, onto you place your thumb to hold it the caraffe. This is a design flaw. There’s not enough to cause any serious burns, but it does give a burning sensation. It’s steam after all.
I don’t use this to actually make coffee in the filter. That grows a certain type of bacteria in the plastic of the basket, which gives the coffee from all machines an acrid taste after a year, and no amount of washing can get rid of it.
I just use it to boil water, and keep it hot. I make either instant coffee or tea with it. It’s an inexpensive alternative to those very expensive tea kettles that keep your water warm.

So small and good looking. Brews pretty fast , I kinda miss the pop ,cracked ,fart of the old machine as it would audibly let you know when done 😂 but honestly this maker is so quiet, it’s almost disconcerting. If I can’t hear it, I think I haven’t turned it on.
I like the fact that the water dripper arm is built into the lid and you don’t have to swing it into place like on the Mr coffee and Black& Decker. Also, you don’t need to buy coffee filters. It’s got the little metal one built in and removable for cleaning of course. So far it works great. Brews five cups 👍

I like everything about this little 4-cup drip coffee maker, except that it does not automatically shut off after a couple of hours (the details state that it does this). I specifically looked for this one feature when I was shopping for a small drip maker and under the details, it says, “Special Feature – Auto Shut-Off.” Thankfully, I work from home and can turn it off after I pour my second cup. However, there are some days when I’m so busy that I don’t go back for a 2nd cup, so I had to set my own reminder on my phone to go turn it off by 9 am if I haven’t yet… annoying. As of this review date, 8/8/23, that feature is still stated there, so the seller might want to remove that. Other than that, I love the coffee maker. It’s super cute and makes good drip coffee. I didn’t want a lot of bells and whistles and timers, and this is that. But the auto shut-off either needs to be added or removed from the details.

Once you get used to it, this is a great little coffeemaker. Some suggestions:
1. “5 cups” are probably demi-tasse size; 5 cups from this carafe will fill two mugs like those pictured
2. When adding water or pouring coffee, do so VERY slowly, otherwise you will spill liquid all over everything
3. I prefer using cone filters rather than the supplied one. The coffee tastes better, and the supplied filter is messier to clean
4. Getting the correct measurement of coffee will depend on your taste, of course. I have an old coffee scoop spoon that I still use
5. Once you get down to 2 cups or empty, make sure you turn it off. There’s no automatic turn-off.

It’s fine. I bought it to take on vacation because I’m a coffee snob and have a phobia of the coffee pots in the hotel room (lol!)
It is small and easy to use but does sometimes leak all over when you pour the coffee.

This little pot makes 2 cups of a good size coffee mug. So I make it and drink one and put the rest in the fridge for the next day.
I have to fill water all the way to the top to get full pot.
I found that 4 tablespoons of coffee is the right amount.

This is super easy to use, easy to clean, makes a good size pot. I’m happy with my purchase. I just dislike the warming plate situation.
To brew a pot, you flip the switch to ON and it brews and the warming plate stays hot until you turn the switch OFF.
You need to keep the switch ON for thr entire brewing process and then remember to flip it to OFF or it will just stay really hot infinitely.
I wish the brewing system and the hot plate were on their own switch. Then this would be the perfect pot.

this compact coffee maker is too cute and very functional. space saving. features include automatic drip stop when carafe is removed. holds the temperature very well after brewing. never have to buy filters again, the built in filter basket just wash it and place back in its space. great price and it’s stainless steel combination adds to the high end look.

This was a gift for my mom who drinks 2 cups
every morning. She didn’t like the keurig ot was to confusing for her to use so I purchased this and she is happy as ever.

Perfect for almost 3 cups of coffee. It works seamlessly and pumps out really hot coffee. Definitely worth the money.

I drink one mug of coffee in the morning. This small size coffee maker suits me. I rinse it out immediately to avoid coffee stain build up, the glass pot is unstained after several months of use. It is easy to use. However, the flavour is in the coffee grind, not sure the maker has anything to do with it. However, the coffee is hot and the perfect temperature for me. Thank you.
