I thought about an electric herb grinder for the same price. Glad I went manual. I am very satisfied with the performance of this grinder. Don’t really care about whole bean vs grounds. Just want my caffeine boost. I can appreciate the manual grind as I grind herb daily. I only grind what I need per use but you can easily grind as much as you want to speed up the process. I prepare my coffee in a moka pot and a fine grind bean for 6oz of espresso takes about five minutes at casual speed. Very impressed by the grind selection. The smallest selection is very much like fine espresso. I pack my funnel and the smallest setting was too small for my pot. I was easily able to literally dial in the perfect ground size for my pot. Will be interesting to see how long this will last with daily use.

Absolutely simple to use, and produces a quality grind via its classic burr mill design. It can take a bit of time to use; an 8-cup pour over brew would probably require 12-15 minutes of grinding, depending on your preferred coarseness level.
Regardless, it’s simple to use, easy to clean and store, does exactly what it’s supposed to do (and well), and only makes a pleasant grinding noise when you use it (opposed to an ear-splitting electric motor screech and rattle).

You really have to play with the adjustment wheel to get the desired coarseness / fineness, and you have to disassemble about halfway to adjust that wheel. If you have the patience for that, this is a good budget grinder. I usually break up my desired beans into 2-3 rounds of 2-3 scoops of beans each (50-70 grams total, or enough for a full French press brew or my cold brewer, both of which are also Gator Coffee products). Gator has very responsive customer service, as well.

I have one electric and two manual grinders. Definitly worth the price for my cabin!
Timeless Beauty –
I love the concept and it’s good quality but it takes a lot of grinding to get enough for 1 pot. Slow process
Arthur –
Cool but get ready for workout for morning coffee

I’ve had this grinder for AGES. Like when it first came out ages. I used it for quite a bit for french press. Recently I’ve moved on to an electric burr grinder of a higher caliber but this thing was AWESOME….and still is. With that said after about 2 years I did mod it. I removed the top screw and put on a hexagonal screw and attached my drill, haha. I did this because I was making bigger batches for cold brew multiple times a week and I was wearing my arm out, lol. It is fairly consistent with the grinds.
