This electric coffee grinder that can also be used to grind spices is very nice. To me, it’s a real dream because it’s replacing a coffee grinder that was the most frustrating thing in the world. The old one took a long time and still didn’t give me a complete grind and then would make a mess because it leaked coffee from the underside! What kind of electric grinder does that!?!
I like to provide PROS and CONS so I don’t miss touching on something that might help someone else. There are really no cons, but I’ll provide a bit more info that’s included in the instructions. If someone gets this to grind sticky stuff like dried fruit, peanuts or chocolate, you need a food processor. It can’t grind down hard things, either. I can’t imagine what that would be, but I guess if you wanted a rock to make sand someone might think this grinder can do that. No, it can’t. To me, that isn’t even a consideration, but some people may buy this thinking it will do something that a food processor (or cement truck) needs to do, not a coffee grinder. I include that here just to inform. It certainly isn’t a CON.
After all my years using a coffee grinder, there’s something in the instruction manual I didn’t know. To clean the grinder after doing spices so there isn’t part of your mustard seed residue getting in your ground cinnamon, grind rice to clean it out. I keep a separate grinder for anything other than coffee but it’s nice to know how to get residual leavings from around the sharp blades.

This grinder definitely beat the old one hands down and I can’t think of anything to improve it. I recommend it.

The cup that holds the grounded product is very hard to take off. I think it is because it is stainless steel and slick. It would be great if it had a gripper type band. I use this to powder herbs and it does the job well. Would have been a 5 star if I didn’t struggle to get the cup off without spilling the contents. I learned to grab the sides of the cup from top to bottom rather than trying to hold on the cup side to side. I am hoping with use it will loosen a bit, other than that, it is a good grinder. I can’t speak to grinding coffee as I do not drink it or grind it. But it powders my herbs in seconds. I can’t recommend this product or not recommend, it is going to depend on your grasp if you can use it. I give it 4 stars because it does grind well.

I got this grinder through Vine, primarily marketed as a coffee grinder, but I have been using it mainly to grind spices, including cinnamon, and I must say it works like a charm. What stands out is its versatility in providing different grinding textures. Grinding for a sustained period yields a fine powder, reminiscent of the consistency suitable for Turkish coffee which is exactly how I like my spices to be ground to. Surprisingly, it manages to attain this level of fineness without the common overheating issue, a testament to its high-quality build. I have also experimented with shorter grinding durations which gave me coarser particles, just perfect for recipes requiring a bit more texture or for brewing French press coffee.
One of my initial concerns was whether the appliance would emit that unpleasant burning smell that is a commonplace with many low-quality grinders, but I was pleasantly surprised to find no such issue with this one. Even after operating for several minutes, it remained relatively cool, showcasing its efficient motor and superior build quality. What is more, the grinder is proficient in grinding my cinnamon sticks down to a fine powder, bringing out the robust and fresh flavors that elevate my culinary creations to a whole new level. It’s just remarkable how this coffee grinder has adapted so well to my spice grinding needs, allowing for an enhanced flavor profile in my dishes

The CASABREWS Coffee Grinder is a very attractive kitchen gadget with a brushed metal base, stainless steel cup with the blade at the bottom, and thick plastic dome that let you see the coffee as it is being ground up.
Pushing down on the dome activates the powerful but loud-ish motor which spins the blade that quickly grinds the beans.
Once the beans are ground to your preference, remove the dome, rotate the cup, and detach it from the base, and pour out the grinds into your coffee maker.
The removable cup is a huge advantage over other type of grinders, since you don’t have to lift the entire grinder (along with the cord) to pour the ground coffee into the coffee maker.
While it is a bit larger than the “K” brand coffee grinder I’ve been using for years, I prefer the Casabrews grinder. Since the cup is removable for easy cleaning, you can use it to grind more than just coffee beans and not have to worry that the flavor of those other items will be left behind.
My only minor complaint is the loudness of the motor. It is definitely louder than the old grinder I had been using. The good thing about the CASABREWS motor noise is that it has more of a low pitch to it – almost like a grunting sound, as opposed to a high pitched “eeeeee”, which would be more annoying. Honestly though, it is my only gripe.
