Having heard about Death Wish Coffee in the media and being a coffee freak, I contacted the manufacturer in America to see whether they planned to distribute in Britain but got a rather inocuous reply telling me very little so I felt a bit put out.

However, I was pleasantly surprised on Christmas day when I opened a pack of Death Wish ground coffee beans in the distinctive black packaging with the skull and cross bones. I also received the

    Aerobie AeroPress Coffee Maker

so read the instructions and made myself a cup of Death Wish coffee. Presuming that the strength of the coffee and it’s claim to be the strongest in the world would mean a bitter or overpowering taste I took my first sip with a degree of trepidation. No need. Death Wish coffee has a beautiful, rich taste that belies it’s strength. It is smooth but full bodied with a rather complex flavour that, first thing on a morning, is so very satisfying. In fact, I now use my Aeropress with Death Wish at least twice a day but could quite happily drink more. The only thing that stops me is the fact that drinking more than my two large cups (500ml mug) a day, I seriously doubt I would sleep at night.

The claims of being the strongest coffee in the world aren’t hype at all. My first cup gave me an almost immediate kick, I felt more alert and clear headed and followed up by a second mug, Death Wish primes me nicely before a twelve hour shift at work. This stuff is amazing and the fact it tastes so good is simply brilliant. I normally drink coffee from a Starbucks Verismo machine where I would spend maybe £12 on pods per week but, a little sadly, the Verismo is now relegated to the occasional cup when I want a coffee without the insomnia that Death Wish delivers.

Since 25th December I have used Death Wish quite a lot making maybe three or four mugs per day and I have just had to order more from Amazon now. The Aeropress uses more coffee than you might in a cafetiere so I would expect you’d get more cups for your money if you prefer brewing your coffee that way. However, coupled with the Aeropress I would definitely say that not only is Death Wish the strongest coffee in the world but also the best tasting. It is now the preferred drink in our house to start the day and it will be a regular order from Amazon.

Having tried strong coffee in restaurants, hotels, bars, Starbucks, Costa, bespoke coffee shops, etc I can honestly say Death Wish is the best and if you’re a coffee lover who enjoys their coffee strong but delicious then you must try it. The only down side is, once you have tasted Death Wish, every other coffee suddenly lacks something; instant coffee becomes a decidedly cheap and nasty option making the Aeropress the perfect companion as it is portable and therefore can be used at work or away on holiday, negating the need to buy instant at all. I love Death Wish and I am sure you will too and with free delivery available on Amazon, click the buy it button and see for yourself.

I can’t remember where I first saw this coffee but I knew I had to try it. I am glad I finally did. I love coffee and have tried a number of different ones, some I have bought on Amazon. This one is definitely the real deal.

It bills itself as the World’s Strongest Coffee. I can tell you that they may be right. I normally drink Dark Roast coffee as a preference and I drink it black. French Dark Roast is my favourite. This IS NOT a French Dark Roast but is still not a bad tasting coffee. I expected it to be more bitter but maybe because I brew a pot using approximately 7 tablespoons of ground coffee, no matter what the blend, I didn’t find it bitter at all.

My first cup woke me right up. It didn’t ring any bells but it got me going. No other blend has had that immediate impact on me first thing so I’d say it’s on the mark for strongest coffee.

The taste is ok. It’s not bad at all but nothing over the top nor unique. I’ll take a French Roast any day over it if I’m looking for that taste.

The cost is a bit pricier than I would like to spend on the amount of coffee you get, 1 pound for $28 CDN I believe I paid. However, that it lived up to it’s strength promise without any adverse effects (i.e. Feeling shaky or unable to sit down) given its strength, it’s right on the money.

In the end, if you are looking for a coffee to give you a morning edge after getting up, something you are no longer getting from your regular morning coffee, this is the stuff for you. Recommended!

Holy smokes – this stuff lives up to its billing. I am a coffee aficionado (snob) and admittedly, I can be quite critical of products that don’t meet my standards. I have tried multiple coffee makers/processes and coffee products. I enjoy a smooth, not bitter, experience and a rich aromatic smell. This is pure therapy for me in the morning. Death Wish Coffee didn’t let me down, even though my expectation was that it would be too powerful both in taste and effect. On the contrary, the taste was smooth and flavorful, filling my house with the most beautiful aroma. Lastly, if you want a kick in the pants, this product is for you. I don’t usually feel the effects of caffeine, but one cup of this will wake you up an get you going.

I have been a Death Wish drinker for a long time and love their coffee! This flavor is amazing! It’s a great counter to the “Pumpkin Spice Everything”. Glad I tried it. Smooth and flavorful, and Death Wish Strong!

When this coffee arrived at my doorstep, I knew the time had come for me to finally eschew my life that had come before this day and, finally, become a man.

Opening the safely packaged box that surrounded the bag of ground energy, I was both exhilarated and frightened. The black package, the skull-and-crossbones, all spoke of the certainty of the product I was about to imbibe. I was taken aback by the package itself, the top sealed even after the plastic tines kept it rolled down and some type of circle, as though I were expected to jab a syringe into this bag, perhaps to use as an IV, stared at me. I thought, in my childishness, this must be some terrible secret to which I was not yet privy. Hanging my head in shame, I accepted that some things would come in time, and used a pair of safety scissors – the only type my infantile self was allowed to handle – to open the bag and access the heavenly aromas within.

For my first trip into the realms of adulthood, I knew some precautions need be taken. I wore three pairs of pants that day, for safety, and began carefully measuring the amount of grinds into my coffee maker before realizing I was too ignorant to measure these things correctly and simply filled the filter. This, I would later learn, was the most approved method of coffee making and was my first instinctual attempt into manhood.

In only five minutes I had a steaming cup of coffee and, I shamefully admit, I was afraid. Accepting that I was still young, I applied a healthy amount of milk and two scoops of sugar to my cup. Rather than the calming, youthful tan of other coffees, Death Wish brand coffee understood my weakness and would not allow itself to be brought down to my level. Instead, it would elevate me despite my attempts at self-sabotage.

The milk granted my coffee a grey pallor, indeed as though the skull and crossbones from the packaging were attempting to form inside my cup; the sugar either dissolved totally or was completely erased from this physical plane, I am still not certain. Accepting that the trip into pubescence was fraught with many a peril, I again hung my head in shame before drinking deep from my elixir.

In the five days hence, I have had to shave ten times, my shirts ill fit, and my friends do not recognize me for my rippling Adonis-like physique. I hold three full time jobs, have built two homes with my bear hands (indeed, almost more claw and hair than actual hand, truly these are the paws of a great feral beast with which I share this message), and have sired a dozen children.

Perhaps man was not meant to ascend these lofty heights so swiftly. Perhaps the brand name of this brew is less a boast and more a warning. Perhaps. But that spectre cannot reach me now, not so long as I keep the pot hot and the filter cleaned.

Thank you, Death Wish coffee. Thank you for making me all I could be, and all I should not.
