I’ll first start off by saying I am just a simple and casual coffee and espresso drinker. I am in no way a coffee and espresso connoisseur, so with that said.I do like this product so far. I have put it through at least a few dozen capsules. The following are my personal pros and cons of the coffee machine.:

    Pros
    – Biking is my primary form of exercise and brewing quick espresso shots or coffee in the morning before each ride is very useful and satisfying
    – I like the convenience of quick single-served cups of coffee
    – I like the overall design and convenience of having two machines in one
    – I go to school early in the morning so having fast coffee is very beneficial if I ever need it (especially before tests)

    Cons
    – The coffee does taste a bit more “acidic” than other coffee I have had before. It was very noticeable with the Caramel (Caramelizio) and the Pumpkin Spice coffee. This is even after using a hazelnut creamer as well. (I use 3-4 tablespoons)
    – Can be expensive depending on the drinker (in my case not so much since I don’t drink it daily)
    – POSSIBLE CON: The creme layer is more like a foam than anything so if that bothers people then that could steer them away from this machine. For me it doesn’t matter and I rather enjoy the foam-like layer
    – POSSIBLE CON: The temperature of the coffee usually hits between 165-175 F (which is an “improvement” over the previous vertuoline)

This machine could be useful for people who:
    – Have busy schedules and need quick servings of coffee
    – Only require one or two cups of coffee in one sitting (I only need one if I ever need to consume any)
    – Like to combine one quick cup of coffee and one quick shot of espresso for energy
    – Want the convenience of having a coffee and espresso brewer in one machine rather than two (saves counter space for those with small kitchens)
    – Want coffee they can drink quickly rather than waiting for it to cool down enough to not burn themselves with quick consumption

    Final Thoughts
-This machine serves its purpose for me very well and as it states in the title I wish I could give it 4.5/5 stars and not just 4. The reason for this is because the cons are not really cons to me to such an extreme extent to merit 4 stars. The taste is more noticeably acidic than other coffees I’ve had but still tastes very good to me since I use hazelnut creamer (3-5 tablespoons depending on the capsule). The price is not too much of a problem with me either since I do not consume coffee on a daily basis. I usually consume coffee or espresso 3-4 times per week and definitely on my biking days. It can however be very expensive depending on the drinker. As for the creme layer I do enjoy the foam but I can see how others would not like it. Also if you use creamer you need to stir it properly which unfortunately also dissolves the vast majority of the creme layer…but still tastes good and that is pretty much what matters most to me. As for the temperature I enjoy the 165-175 F temperature since it is hot but not too hot and it cools down rather fast as well. If you use creamer it will cool down much faster and you could practically chug the coffee if you wanted to. I like that when I’m really in a hurry but when I want to relax and enjoy a nice hot cup I just pour 3-5 tablespoons of creamer into the cup and microwave it for 20 seconds. I then transfer the cup to the machine and just press the button and the coffee won’t cool fast. As for comparisons I unfortunately cannot make any (to other single-served coffee machines) but I do like the taste of many capsules. The ones I recommend are:

Coffee- Melozio (my favorite), Stormio (but only with certain creamer since it is a dark roast), Vanizio and the Banana Bread. I absolutely HATE the Elvazio because the “fruitiness” it has only further adds to the acidity, or at least it does for my palate. I unfortunatelyl have not been able to try the Hazelino just yet but I have heard lots of positives out of that one.

Espresso- I have tried samples of all of them and the one I like the most is the Voltesso. It tastes good to me black but with creamer it tastes delecious for me. The Diavolitto was a bit too strong for me considering how dark the roast is. Even the creamer struggled to cover that. If you like dark roasts however (and I mean dark) then you will most likely like that one along with the Altissio.

Hope someone finds this review useful 🙂 if you have any questions ask away and I’ll do my best to answer them but please remember I’m just a casual drinker of coffee if even that.

I bought the Nespresso VertuoLine Evoluo Deluxe for my office. I wanted a machine to effortlessly prepare a single serving of coffee, but I hate the weak Keurig coffee. I was hesitant at first to buy this unit because of the reviews mentioning the “cold coffee” they get from the VertuoLine machines. I do like hot coffee! But I do not know what these reviewers were talking about. The new Evoluo makes great hot coffee. Maybe the first version of VertuoLine machines produced coffee with lower temperature, but the Evoluo delivers perfect temperature coffee.

The machine looks great in the office, is easy to use and makes flavorful coffee with great crema. At the end of the brewing cycle the machine spins at higher speed, which results in more noise, but this is only for a few seconds. The only thing I wish they would have added to the machine is a low water level warning. I usually do not pay attention to the water level. The machine ran dry and then stopped brewing, but only after a few more seconds of trying to get water out of the empty reservoir (with a lot of noise). But after adding water and pressing the brew button again (without changing the coffee cup) the machine continued to brew the coffee without problems. I usually drink the Stormio coffee, and occasionally an espresso. I do not mind the limited selection for the VertuoLine machines. If you want tea and hot chocolate, but a Keurig. If you want great coffee and espresso, buy this.

The machine came with the Aerocchino plus milk frother. It is so easy to use and clean that I am seriously considering getting another one for my home. People complained that is overflowing but I had not have that happen even once. Pay attention to the max fill level indicators on the inside of the unit. I use it in an office and overflowing would create a serious mess. But it is working perfectly. I just rinse it out with cold water and wipe with a paper towel. It is so easy to use because it uses small magnetic stirring rod which you can easily pull out. Then there is just one little “bump” and otherwise smooth sides with no crevices. No possibility for milk residue to build up. It is also nice that the whole unit (the top part, not the base) is semi-waterproof so you can run water over it without problems. The unit heats up milk in just a few seconds. You have the option to either heat up milk (the simple looking attachment) or create foam (the mini whisk). Both work great, but I usually just use the simple one. Even though it is intended to just heat up milk, it also produces some foam, which is perfect for my purposes.
