Was buying pre-grinded coffee, now I can enjoy freshly grinded beans. It can make a very fine powder. Overall a great product for any coffee lover.

I have to admit that this will be much more than I will ever need. Currently we do have an espresso machine that grinds its own beans but anytime I want to make cold brew or French press coffee I run into an issue of needing to have multiple types of coffee. I am happy to say that I won’t be buying ground coffee anymore because now I have the ability to grind coffee beans to suit my beverage of choice. This machine is very easy to use. It does come with multiple pieces and parts and you can even grind coffee directly into a portafilter! I do think the machine is somewhat noisy, so I would not want to be running this in the morning while people are still trying to sleep, but it does perform as advertised.

So much nicer to use than a manual grinder for the end product. I have never had an an electric grinder before I confess. Big difference. Only it does take up counter space and has a 1970’s look from the color (beige). Worthwhile trade off for fresh finely ground coffee.

My husband is a coffee crazed man. He has had multiple coffee grinders in the past, generally gravitating towards hand crank versions. I surprised him with this and he was intimidated with all the settings and buttons. He took time to read the manual, got it figured out and now he absolutely loves this! He likes that he can make the setting for espresso versus his regular coffee maker and uses it a few times daily.

I am an avid coffee lover so I was super excited to try this grinder.My favorite feature is the coarseness settings depending on what consistency you like.It does have a moderate noise level but it’s tolerable.It has an easy to read touch screen and is clean up is very easy.

This Shardor conical burr coffee grinder is great. It’s really easy to use and to get the desired grind size. You can set it to grind by the cup size or by seconds. It automatically shuts off after 3 minutes and it doesn’t save your last setting so you need to adjust it everytime. The beige color looks nice in the pictures but it almost looks like its just really old and it used to be white. Nice working coffee grinder.

 Got tired of hand grinding espresso for minutes just to get enough for a double shot and the cheap electric blade grinder was nowhere near consistent enough to make espresso. So when I tried this I was pleasantly surprised at how it spat out a perfect amount of espresso for my portafilter at the default 8 seconds, which can be easily adjusted. It make an excellent cup of espresso, even though I have a sub $200 machine. In fact it’s better tasting now than with my hand grinder, which is a burr grinder itself. It seems apparent that the electric grind can get much finer than my hand grinder can (which to be honest I can get my hand grinder that fine if I’m willing to grind for 15min per shot). The only negative is a slight amount of coffee spills over but the portafilter holder and base pop right out for easy rinsing.
On a side note, I’ve been on a binge of drinking straight espresso from multiple coffee shops in two different states. Although my espresso machine is cheap, I buy high quality beans and combined with this electric grinder, I have made a better shot of espresso than everywhere I’ve been (everywhere else tastes better geeky bitter to me). So definitely a 5/5 for this electric grinder, as I was almost gonna buy a $1000 espresso machine. But clearly a consistent and very fine grind (which I now have!) along with great beans will more than make up for a low end espresso machine.

Overall I’m pretty happy with this conical burr grinder. I had purchased a Baratza Encore conical burr grinder about 14 years ago and used it almost every day. It did great for the $100 I paid but was on it’s last leg, so I decided to replace it with this one from Shardor.
For the price (currently about $80 with a coupon) I think this is a great value. It has more precision and a finer grind than my Encore. It has low static. I like that it has a place to rest a portafilter, although mine doesn’t quite fit right so I have to hold it anyway. I use the ring it came with to minimize the mess.
I mostly use it for espresso. I immediately noticed a difference in the taste of my espresso. I think my Encore couldn’t grind it fine enough, even though I used it on the finest setting. Now it tastes sweeter and less acidic, very smooth. The kind of espresso to change your life. I usually make a latte with about 5 ounces of milk and a splash of sugar free syrup. Fantastic.
I’ve used it for drip and French press as well, and that works just fine. Easy to adjust.
I do wish it just had an on/off button. I like to rotate between a few bags of coffee beans, so I always weigh what I need by grams and then add that to the grinder one serving at a time. I have to set a time or a cup setting, and it would be easier to just turn it on and off.
But if you’re thinking about getting this grinder and have the counter space just go ahead and get it.
