The Descaling Pipe is under the milk drippan. If you lift up the grill, there is a drawing in the plastic that shows the door opening in the front. Grip the plastic lip on both sides and pull forward until it pivots open (hinged at bottom). Mine did not seem like it was meant to open and I thought it would break but it opened.
I have never seen the Cappuccino button shine orange, to indicate that it needs descaling. But the orange light started blinking a while ago and I have never figured out how to turn it off. I descale a few times a year and it works great.

I owned the Latissima Plus (two of them) and sold them when I moved. I tried one of the cheaper brands (Gourmia) and it was terrible. So went back to Latissima and decided to upgrade from the plus to the touch. It works well but is a little bit of a pain to clean (like the plus). In the end I didn’t want to spend the extra cash for the Pro, so this one does the trick. Easy to use, good foam and relatively quick and quiet.

Get it. It makes YOUR perfect latte at any hour. You can program the buttons to make a latte with the exact amount of milk to dispense *and* water through the pod. No pod is wasted! It can make 3-4 regular lattes or 2 extra large per milk fill – and works with almond milk!
Recommend running the ‘clean button’ after each milk use for good housekeeping.

Long-time Nespresso customer. Coffee is ok but can’t get it to taste the same as it did with Citiz. The base under the cup vibrates so much you have to hold any normal sized mug in place or it will vibrate off, smash and splatter hot coffee everywhere (don’t ask me how I know) – it works better with smaller cups that Nespresso sells but if you have your favorite mug like we used to (x2), you better provide adult supervision. Although it has six functions, you typically end up using one or two of the same, and it’s a bit of a headache to vary the volumes of each without compromising taste. Now I wish I just bought another Citiz with a milk frother.

Pros: automatically makes ristretto, espresso, lungo, lattes, cappuccinos, or just steamed milk. Very easy to clean. Easy to use once you get used to it. Nespresso quality beverages.

Cons: drink icons aren’t all that obvious/intuitive, so at first I had to look at the instructions every time to make sure I was pushing the right one. Tray for discarded pods is somewhat small, so needs to be emptied more often than I’d like. If there’s any water at all, it will start to make your drink even if there’s not enough to finish, and there’s no way to pause process. Important to check water level frequently to avoid this. It seems incredibly silly to me that you have to push a separate “on” button to turn it on. Seems that it could be programmed to turn on at the touch of any of the other buttons, rather than a separate one. Probably the biggest con: it’s kind of easy to forget to lift the milk spout from it’s storage position of flush with the milk reservoir to a level that will aim the milk into your cup. A few times since purchase, I’ve looked over to see hot milk shooting straight down and running all over the side of my machine and counter. There should be a sensor to catch this, or some visual reminder or something.

This Nespresso Touch espresso machine used to work so well (see update below). It does take some practice before you brew your first good cup, but once you get used to using it, it’ll be automatic. The best thing about this machine that I didn’t pick up on in some of the reviews is that it can operate basically manually, as well as automatically. And once you find the perfect setting (which you can eyeball by the level of coffee or milk in your cup), you can set the machine to do those levels every time you brew. And if a coffee’s too strong, you can press the espresso button to pull a few more seconds to make it weaker. Just manually press down to start, let up to stop. Or if you like coffee with your milk, you can do the same thing with the stand-alone steamed milk button. You can reset the factory programming to make it just right for you. I should mention that the amount of espresso is not really that much, but you can pull more manually. Also, I like my coffee hot, so I usually put it in the microwave for 15-20 seconds to heat up the milk.
UPDATE: April 2017 – I bought this machine November 2016. Today, the frother emits only steam. No milk. The milk is fresh and cold. Have no idea what’s wrong, but I certainly expected this thing to operate correctly more than six months. I’ll get in touch with Nespresso, but I’m very disappointed at the moment.

I am very pleased with this. Better thank Starbucks and only at 40 cents a cup. Having the frother installed is a huge step up. Multiple sizes and blends for your cups. Love the push button cleaning. The key for me is to keep stirring whipping in the carmel to the whole cup.

    Pros,
Easy to use , Nespresso Capsules have a very good taste.

    Cons
I like it, but first when I got it, it wasn’t working because of a pump airlock problem, after I fixed it it works just fine.
Also the other problem was that the user guide attached on the website said it was 220V but it came to be 110V so I had to buy a transformer.
The coffee is not hot enough.

Had this almost 2 months, a few days short of the return window thank goodness when the frother stopped working.

It stopped working right after we descaled and adjusted it to our water setting. We did nothing wrong and followed the instructions carefully as well as the Nespresso tutorial videos. We called Nespresso and they said that is common and we needed to return it to Amazon.

Lesson learned – we got an upgraded model (Latissima Pro) WITH a 4 year Amazon warranty. We do like the machine and the coffee is wonderful and we have a ton of capsules already.

Update – the Lattissima Pro stopped working after a couple of weeks.

The heating indicator bar stopped midway for the frother so we could only make espresso. So we returned the machine to Amazon and got another from Nespresso where the same thing happened after a few weeks.

So they are sending us a 3rd machine now. It looks like all the Nespresso machines fail to work after a short amount of time, whether it is the original or vertuo line, they all stop working or have issues after a while.

We are hopeful that the replacement works but now we also have hundreds of capsules to go through. Not only that but right now the Lattisima Pro is reduced to $415 where we spend $600 on it a month ago. Pretty frustrating.
