I love this grinder. This is my 3rd one in decades. It is a grinder, so yes it makes noise but it is a soft pitch sound like a small drill. You only use it for a few seconds. It is a powerful little grinder. It is used in our family for coffee beans, but I do have one that is used for grinding dried herbs and it is wonderful for that as well. 🙂 I ordered another for emergency power outages during hurricanes thinking that the 200watts would be of easy use for my 600watt power station, but it is a 120v and my power station is a 110 v. 🙁 I am waiting to hear from the power station company but i do not know if I can use it now as was intended. Nevertheless, we now have an extra grinder on hand ahead of time for when we burn out the current one. It gets used DAILY for years now, I am happy to report. 🙂 So it is only a matter of time.

I love the compact size, built-in storage. There’s a tiny bit of a drip after the coffee is brewed, the lid of the storage container catches it easily. Not a big deal.

Does everything you need it to. However, it heats up rather quickly, 4 or 5 cycles and it is warm enough for me to question whether its damaging anything to run it for any more than that.

The Krups grinder does a great job with coffee; you can get everything from a very fine grind to a coarser grind to a grind for use as a sprinkle on chocolate mousse or other desserts. We’ve even used it to grind pine nuts for small batch pesto.

The oval shape of the Krups grinder churns the contents so that it grinds evenly. I have tried the expensive round shaped grinders and found them useless. I purchased a new Krups oval grinder on Amazon over a year ago. Its great just as I remembered from long ago when it was sold as a coffee grinder. As a spice grinder, this is the best. I grind both spices and fresh herbs in it. Occasionally course coffee for French press. It will grind cinnamon to fine powder. I have ground hard spices like cloves and its perfect grain size though the hard spices do scar the inside surface of the cap. Fresh herbs stick but tap it a couple of times and hit the go button again. I also use it for blending small batches of dry rub. A paint brush or basting brush is good to get the ground spices and herbs out from around the blades if you need it all. If not, I just rinse the bowl and cup after use and let dry completely, don’t submerge.
