This is a well-made, sturdy grinder made by the former employees of 1zpresso. It has a 16-micron range per click so you have no problem grinding for a pour-over or an espresso.

I’ve been using it for a couple months now and I really like it. I don’t mind hand grinding at all, it’s easy and this grinder has a nice grip to it. Way better than paying an insane amount for a machine grinder.

This is my daily grinder that I use with my Flair Pro 2 espresso maker. It creates an excellent grind and is super easy to dial into the grind that i need. The only things I wish it had was a magnetic bottom instead of a screw on AND I wish it was a bit easier to clean. The fine coffee grinds are difficult to clean with the brush that was provide. However, at about half the price of other grinders with the same quality, it is still a great deal.

I like this grinder. I’ve been using it for about six weeks. I had a different leading hand grinder that was a pain. The spring loaded handle snapped open and repeatedly pinched my finger. So enough of that. I’m drinking espresso now as I write this and it’s excellent. I haven’t tried to clean it and don’t think I ever will. There’s a small pin that has to be fiddled with to take this grinder apart. That’s the only slight negative. One time the rubber o-ring came off but could have been my fault. This isn’t the best or most expensive out there but it’s very good for me. My coffee is so good it doesn’t last long. I don’t see any reason to get an electric grinder at the moment. I can grind 17g. in about 23 seconds and I grind at medium speed.

The external grind setting feature is a huge plus! Eliminates the need to unscrew the receiver from the lower portion of the grinder and adjust the grind setting “on the inside.” I have been using this grinder mainly for very fine settings on a La Pavoni Espresso machine and it handles the task with no problem. Having 240 individual settings available gives the user the chance to make sure that the coffee is ground just right for the coffee variety that they want. I have found that for myself I can grind about 20 grams of beans with about 100 revolutions of the handle.
Now of course being a manual grinder takes away the convenience that electric grinders provide but the end result along with significantly lower cost of this quality grinder (Compared to the Niche Zero grinder for example) make for a very worthwhile tradeoff. Plus you get a small workout for the arm in return!
For those coffee enthusiasts who need a truly precision grind for their tastes, this grinder is most worthy of consideration. Very glad I bought it. !

In feel a strange sense of pleasure using this coffee grinder because it is so well made, which is something that seems so rare nowadays.
I just wish it were a tad skinnier so that it could fit inside by Aeropress, but to be fair, I wasn’t looking for this feature when I researched it

All-in-all, pretty good. Got this trying to save some money compared to the Zpresso K-pro. While I do not think it’s as good as that grinder, it is good enough for me and my robot.

    My biggest 3 gripes are:

-The handle and arm tend to pop out from the plastic grinding shield even with the o-ring installed
-Using a cordless drill is really kind of a gimmick unless you use a fairly torquey full size drill and you still kind of need to do a quick pre-grind with the handle/arm to get it started.
-And I also have recently discovered I prefer light roasted beans which this grinder doesn’t really shine at, but once again good enough for me as a beginner.

I would gift this to any friend starting out on their coffee adventure in a heartbeat a very solid 4 stars/B+.

I started with the K6 hand grinder because I was looking for an affordable hand grinder that could do Espresso. It did not disappoint. It produces VERY juicy and sweet “thick” coffee. Those “thick” or bold characteristics give more intensity to one or two of the flavor notes. So the other notes get muted. In other words, if the first note is “Apple”, “Cherry”, etc. Your coffee will be literally the first-note-forward-tasting coffee. Technically if you are chasing after clarity, this is not your grinder (or any conical grinder).

Overall, this is an AMAZING GRINDER that is on the budget, such as first-timers, for the pure “manualist,” or/and for traveling (it’s the main purpose for me nowadays).

My tip, grind your coffee slowly and not rush. The surface area is not big like a flat burr. So grinding fast, will produce heat that will introduce a “bitter” taste note to your coffee.

My daily is the DF family grinders (DF64 with SSP MP and the DF83 with SSP MP). My modded DF grinders have no thick body or any intensity that the K6 has. My DF grinders that the K6 doesn’t have is clarity. I am a drinker that wants to taste most or all of the notes from the beans.

This was such an incredible upgrade from my Hario hand grinder with the ceramic burr, better in every way (except for being a smaller max capacity, only 30g can be loaded at a time). It has greatly improved my pourovers for half the price of comparable grinders. Also seems like the burr geometry is similar to the famous Comandante.

    Pros:
    – grinds very fast and smooth. Even the finer grind settings don’t require a huge amoung if force to turn the burr.
    – external grind size adjustment is so much more convenient than opening the bottom chamber to access the adjustment wheel like on so many less expensive models. Also, from what I can tell from reviews, those less expensive models also have many fewer clicks which prevents more precise adjustment.
    – very durable materials and design, no plastic as far as I can tell. Handle attaches securely but also removes easily.

    (Minor) Cons:
    – wooden handle head is unfinished (could use a rub down with mineral oil).
    – rubber around the body is fine as a grip but it does pick up dust and other kitchen residue.
    – the screw threads on the bottom chamber feel like they may get loose over time (already feels looser compared to new) so I would have preferred a magnetic closure or rubber seal.
    – static does cause some of the grounds to stick to the sides of the bottom chamber unless you knock it a bit but that might not be a bad thing since these are usually the fines.
