This brand is what you’ll find in most cafes in Italy. There is a reason for it. It is a great tasting coffee.

There is nothing wrong with this Illy coffee and the packaging it comes in is terrific. The small canisters keep the beans fresh even if you don’t use them all at once and they stack nicely so they’re easy to store. I’ve tried many different coffee varietals during my adult coffee drinking life but I simply prefer LaVazza over Illy. The nuances are subtle, but important to me. LaVazza is more nutty/mochoa/stronger and Illy is more toasty/lighter. I used the Illy to make espressos, cappuccinos, and pour over coffee. The beans were fresh and ground to perfect consistency for either style of coffee. Again, this Illy makes a great cup of coffee. It just comes down to flavor preference.

All cans arrived damaged with large dents and scratches. For some reason I can’t return them. The date on the bottom of each can was from 10/2022 which is not what I was expecting when order fresh beans. When I have bought Illy beans before the date was 1/2023.

Went to Italy about 16 years ago and had the best espresso I ever tasted. Found out it was Illy. Have been drinking Illy espresso ever since. We even take cans of Illy when we go on vacation.

Bought this for the office to use in the espresso machine. When it arrived I opened up the box and two of the cans were dented. You can see in pictures. Other than that, all cans are sealed. It’s a pretty good deal considering that one can usually costs $14.99 or more.

I’ve been buying the bulk buy of six vaccum packed cans of the Illy “Intenso” whole beans from Amazon for about a year. The roasting or packing date stamped on the bottom of the cans is typically about two months earlier than the purchase date.
This was my first bulk purchase of the medium roast Illy beans. The price is good, but the date stamped on these cans is about 10 months earlier than the purchase date. That age exhibits itself in the flavors of the espresso, and it’s not very pleasant. Despite the vacuum packing and “use by date” of two years out, the beans have lost the freshness of recently roasted beans.
