I’ve been using it for almost 6 months to grind coffee for my Moka pot.
I have no experience with other grinders but it works well and the coffee taste very good.
The retention is very low and it does not make a mess while I use it.
The flavor is noticeably improved from pre-ground coffee of the same brand and blend that I get.
Especially because I can have fresh ground coffee in the amount I need every day.

Shuts down after less than 1 second, alerts as if jammed. If I repeatedly press the button I can still grind coffee just very slowly
I thoroughly cleaned it but that didn’t fix it. I’ve started the support process a couple of days ago but no word back yet.
I liked it while it ran.
(update) within a few hours of this review I was contacted about this and they are sending a replacement.

I just got this grinder. I was worried that it would be too loud and too messy. BUT after using it a few times, I am thoroughly impressed. It is very quiet (compared to my other grinder I was using before), and there is little to no mess after using it. My favorite part is the attachment that you can use to pour it into the espresso.

this was my upgrade from my hand grinder and man does it make a difference. Quick to grind and easy to adjust. the grind size guide under the hopper lid is an underrated addition too. retains some grounds but I’ve found that by lifting and pushing the lid up and down a couple times blows them out through the grinder. not a dealbreaker at all personally
Not sure why it has such a good rating –
This machine looks good which was a definite factor to me. The grind settings are a bit limiting and the recommended espresso settings are not really working for my gaggia classic pro. If you have a gcp: grindsize 2 + one increment and set the blue ring all the way to plus. That gives me a perfect 18g 2.5 oz shot in 30 sec.
It has a lot of great features like it is fairly quiet, has a nice magnetic cup and no spill transferring your grind from cup to portafilter.
So: great value for money, great looks, small and good looking.
Jack of trades –
I like the idea that it is somewhat quiet and it is easy to clean with my air compressor, but the claims that it is without static are simply not true. The fines of the coffee almost completely coats the walls of the catch. The retention is pretty bad. It does a good job uniformly grinding the coffee. It’s on the low end of a serious grinder. You get what you pay for.

I have been reluctant to use coffee grinders in the past because of the noise, as loud noises early in the early AM seem especially irritating. It got to the point that I stopped using my prior grinder for that reason and went back to buying ground coffee.
I took a chance that this model might be usable, and I am really pleased. This noise from this grinder comes in at about 70 dB, which various scales have as either a washing machine, toilet flushing, or average office noise.
By contrast, my prior grinder was closer to 85 dB, which could be compared to alarm clocks, blenders, etc.
That is a huge difference in noise levels, and it now allows me to enjoy the huge difference in coffee flavor.

Makes Really good expresso, quiet and fun. Really love this grounder. 5 stars ⭐️

Not anti static. On button is horrid. Several pushes to get it to work. Timing is unpredictable. No response to me emails sent to Fellows.

I have owned the Opus for about 3 months. I use the grinder almost daily for either espresso or brew coffee.
Generally speaking, the grinder performs well. It is much quieter than the Barratza Encore I used to own and does a great job grinding for both espresso and brew coffee. As a brew grinder, I find that my Barratza did a bit better job of producing a clean cup, but the difference is almost indistinguishable and certainly not worth having a second grinder dedicated for brew coffee only.
There are four things about this unit that I don’t particularly like. First, and most annoying, is the static buildup. It is particularly bad when grinding for brew coffee. It spews grounds in a 6 inch radius around the entire grinder, even when I spray the beans.
Second, is the micro-adjustability of the grinder. I had to watch a video on Fellow’s website to know exactly how it works (hold down the blue adjustments and turn the hopper, don’t attempt to turn the adjustments). Once you figure it out, it makes sense, but the manual doesn’t do a good job of providing instructions on how to use it.
Third is the dosing cup. Since I switch between espresso and brew, I often forget to switch out the espresso cup insert for the brew cover. More than once I’ve ground for brew and had an overflow mess.
Lastly is the retention. There’s lots of it and I hate knocking the unit against my counter, but that’s what I often have to do to get most of the grinds out.
If I had $5-600, I would have bought a Eureka. But as an experienced brewer (pour overs, french press) and a novice espresso maker, I thought this a good value to dive into the latter. I’m sure one day I will update my grinder, but for now, this is an admirable performer that will serve both espresso and brew drinkers alike very well.

The best grinder i have ever used, and i’ve used the professional ones. It’s super quiet, and gives consistent grind. Works great for espresso, aeropress, french press and pour overs. Highly recommended.
