Looks good in white upon arrival but after 4 or 5 uses, the lower bottom half of the coffee maker begins to take the brownish look of the stove top and the upper hall takes on the look of the expresso coffee itself. The instructions clearly state you can not us an abrasive cleaner to clean and wipe it down. Therefore, how it looks in white when it arrives loses its look, luster and appeal. It does however, brews a good pot of coffee but once it does, you can not leave it out by the stovetop or countertop. You have to hide it in order to not see or expose it to guest since it looks as if it hasn’t been cleaned.
If you plan to buy it, purchase it in black or silver but not in white or you will be as sorry as I am.

I’ve been using this for a month now and it makes a great cup of coffee, I use ground coffee I purchase from Amazon and it turns out great. It doesn’t leak and works fine. If you are making coffee it produces 1 1/2 cups of coffee when you fill the bottom portion to the max line. For espresso I’m sure it provides more but I haven’t brewed that yet. Overall easy to use and clean.

Forget those expensive espresso machines, if you want the best espresso you need to do it the old fashioned way like they do in Italy. I’ve had this moka pot for 6 months now and I love it (so does my GF). This, along with my electric milk frother, makes some of the best cappuccinos and lattes. So much so I have friends who have gone out and bought one of these as well. The following are a few tips for preparing espresso and also caring for the moka pot.
1. Low and slow. As others have mentioned, you have to brew this on a low flame. I use the second to the lowest flame setting on my stove and it comes out perfect every time. Too high a flame and you may scorch the coffee. Likewise, if the flame extends out past the bottom of the pot, you run the risk of melting the handle. So take your time, let it happen naturally and you’ll enjoy a prefect espresso every time.
2. This is a cast aluminum pot. That means it will oxidize (rust). All aluminum will oxidize given time (just like stainless steel will rust under the right conditions), but cast aluminum is even more prone to oxidation. As such, I recommend you do not use any sort of dish soap when washing this. Soaps typically have chemicals and such that can cause the pot to prematurely oxidize. I use hot water and a clean cloth to wipe it out, rinse, then dry it off. That’s it. And so far my pot has remained rust free.
3. Coffee. The biggest aspect of making a good espresso, good coffee. Don’t skimp on the coffee. Use quality espresso grinds (or beans if you grind your own). This is not a Mr Coffee drip so don’t use a drip coffee maker type coffee. It’s in the beans, so don’t be afraid to spend a little more for a quality espresso grind.
4. If you’ve never tried it I highly recommend you try a Caffè corretto. That’s a standard cup (demitasse) of espresso with a shot (1oz) of Sambuca mixed in. A true Italian espresso. Yum!

This makes a really good cup of coffee and if you just need that one cup of coffee each day, this is your coffee pot. It’s simple, easy to clean and wildly efficient. I highly recommend this product.

This is a great coffee maker. It is excellent. I grew up in an Italian family and with this style of coffee and wanted one myself. Fantastic! Works as expected when you fill her up correctly (don’t go over the valve in the bottom part). Works the best with finer ground coffees, but, I have experimented with “normal” coffees and it also produces well. The only minor issue is that the spout is made such that coffee can sometimes dribble down the side when pouring, thus I suggest doing it over the sink instead of the stove.
However, I had to return my initial product due to the fact that the top part that connects to the handle broke after/during one use. So, be warned, don’t try and use ANY blunt force on the handle to unscrew the coffee maker when hot (I did not in my case, but seeing as it broke without, it certainly would with). I suspect that it was already cracked when I bought it, and the heat exacerbated the problem.
IMPORTANT NOTE TO PEOPLE NOT USED TO THESE: With thermal expansion, due to the heat, the threads of the screw will bind. Therefore, you must wait for the coffee maker to cool before unscrewing it and cleaning. After months of using the product I think there may have been a manufacturing defect when I had first gotten it. Zero problems with the new one.

Es enorme, hace dos tazas. Grandes de café fuerte. Se limpia con fáciles y sella con poca presión. Si eres fan de las moka pot, esta es una gran elección.
No me fascina el color (blanco) pero era la único opción para una de 12 tazas.

I like my Bellemain Moka coffee maker. I’ve used it every day for two months. It produces 8 oz of pure joy. I’ve always been an instant coffee person, but now I’m recently retired
I now have the extra five minutes it takes. I ordered Amazon’s Italian Illy Classico blend along with the Bellemain pot (very smoothe). Then, I bought Philadelphia’s popular Greenstreeet house blend (very aromatic & expensive but nice). Now I’m using Trader J….s low acid French toast & their defaf French bean also I’ve been blending them when I don’t want a full dose of caffeine (lazy Sunday mornings). Yes, in 2 months I’ve become a coffee connassoire. It’s fun. I use two rounded table spoons per brew which averages out to 20 cents per cup. At the store I set the grind to the notch before expresso grind. Yea, that’s another revelation, grinding my own coffee, never did that before. So I recommend buying the Bellamain and experimenting with a fun cheap rewarding hobby.
