A Tabby in Curlers –
It doesn’t sound like a raving review, but this decaf isn’t bad. I’m an espresso only drinker, so if I want an after 3pm cup, decaf needs to taste strong, syrupy & like it could take the paint off a car if a drop hits it. I buy whole beans & grind them Turkish fine for the fullest flavor.
It’s one of those flavors that is non-offensive… there’s no particular taste that stands out… it’s almost a bland brew. Most I know feel that hotel coffee is terrible (weak & too much caffeine since it’s robusto (cheap beans) not arabica (top of the line beans), but occasionally you’ll stay at a different hotel & their morning coffee isn’t your fave, but a flavorful surprise. That’s what this is like… not superior, but makes a decent cup o’ java.
I like Wicked Joe’s better (it’s super strong, like a caffeinated brew), but it is 50% more in cost & hard to find, especially in stores. I’ll still be on the search for something stronger, but would definitely buy this again & not feel too horrible about it until I do. If I want an evening espresso, this is the way it needs to be done… I’m not too terribly disappointed.
3.75-4* out of 5.

So delighted with this whole bean low acid coffee. It’s hard to find a clean low acid coffee with flavor. It’s rich and naturally sweet all on it’s own, I don’t add any sugar.

I wanted to change my regular low acid coffee and try a new flavour. Accidentally I bought Dark French Roast for my coffee machine, which may be a mistake (I know it should be different coffee for different way of brewing, that is why I want to make it clear what this review is for).
First of all, this beans stink badly (definitely not like proper coffee) the bag is full of coffee ash and I do not think it is the way it should be. Then, brewed in a machine, even with the strongest setting on, results in a lightly brown translucent liquid which I cannot call coffee at all. I do not throwing this away because the acidity is actually the best of the coffees I had. I can have 6 a day and there is still everything ok with my oesophagus. I mixed it with another coffee, the one which is not low acid and the brew is still barely potable. I wonder if I should give this company a chance and order something else.
Once again, I do not know how would it taste prepared in a different way than mine (I do not have the grinder other than the one inside the coffee machine) but because of the smell and ash there is a chance that it will not be good unfortunately.

We are very picky coffee drinkers and we found this to be a good buy for the money. The low acid is better for my stomach.

A lot of the reviews I read were negative, pertaining to the weak taste and non-existent body of this coffee. I have a Saeco PRIMEA coffee machine which grinds the beans and brews the fine compressed result as per your settings. I have put many brands through my machine, and these beans are by far the worst. I understand that being a low acid coffee there would be a difference in flavour, but the product doesn’t even resemble coffee.
Others had mentioned chaff and particles in the packaging among the beans. I would refer to is as detritus. It gets ground in with your beans and ultimately brewed. While I don’t consider myself a coffee snob (others do however) I find it hard to reconcile this product against ANY other bean I have tried.
F minus.

I purchased a fully automatic espresso machine last year, and it is a picky, stubborn contraption. Finding beans the machine likes that also agree with my palette and stomach has been a chore, to say the least. After trying many different brands, I stumbled upon Puroroast, and it has quickly become my favorite brand. The quality is consistent, the taste is excellent, and my machine is able to detect the beans in the grinding hopper. This brand is also easy on my stomach. And best of all, the price can’t be beat.

My dietary needs require low-acid coffee. I’ve been pretty satisfied with different flavors of Puroast, and I have found French Roast and Vanilla Caramel Kahlua to be my favorites. However, lately I have ordered ground coffee, and they send whole bean. Their descriptions and selections are all wonky, and they need to work on presenting their product in a consistent, straight-forward way. If not, I’ll move along to another brand, such as Healthwise, which I also like.
Erica –
Good basic coffee but especially love the low acid. I don’t find this that different from other coffees – I got used to the Puroast brand when in America and was pleased to find it at a reasonable price in the UK as long as you buy it whole beans. I certainly did not notice anything unusual about the beans or even the flavour, as the other reviewer found. This isn’t a strong taste, but it is very much like a normal coffee, whether whole bean or already ground.
Tina –
Love all the flavors!

First, this coffee solves a Big problem but it’s low acid. I Appreciate the fact the company took the time and resources to create this blend of coffee. I need a low acid coffee. Unfortunately, this coffee upset my stomach – I did not try the decaf but the caffeinated really gave me a jolt so maybe the caffeine content is too high for me.
J. Terry –
We love this coffee after discovering it at a local grocery store. However, that store runs out frequently, so we thought we’d order it here. Unfortunately, it has twice arrived already stale (oxidized), to a degree. It seems like the packaging, which is vented, is not really up to whatever conditions of heat or time these get subjected to at the warehouse. We’re not being fussy, and it’s not undrinkable, but given the cost, it’s not acceptable for this coffee to arrive in a state like it would be after sitting opened for a month.
Debbie Beck –
love the taste, and the price is great for the volume, only complaint is a resealable bag would be nice, had to put beans into another container so they did not end up all over, this is not a strong coffee.
Rikki –
Weak taste for a French Roast
