Being made of aluminum makes these reliable and predictable. Some companies offer an all plastic container that fails to function too frequently. This container works each time. The flavor and roast of the coffee are reliable. I don’t wonder if the next shipment will taste or work differently. Lavazza is a coffee company whose product is always of high quality and this particular product is very easy to use and reliable.

I bought myself an offbrand Nespresso coffee maker which also takes K cups and coffee grounds to replace my Keurig. I’d had Nespresso coffee at my relative’s place and was amazed at how much better the cup of coffee tasted compared to my trusty Keurig. In order to figure out my tastes in Nespresso coffee I looked for a sample pack of different coffee strengths and this was on sale during Prime Day for a great price. I also trust the Lavazza brand just from my prior experience with it. It has become somewhat difficult to find the original Nespresso pods since I see a lot of the Virtuo pods replacing where the old Nespresso pods were being sold in stores. I like that there are 5 different strengths from Decaf to super dark in this variety pack. Normally I prefer Medium to Dark roast coffee, but I haven’t found the lighter roasts to be too watery in this variety pack. They were all good buys and none were duds. On a separate note, if you use Nespresso I feel like it is essential to get a milk frother to get the full experience. I always used to microwave my milk and then use the handheld frother to create foam, but I finally bit the bullet on a milk frothing machine and it has changed my world. Personally I drink my Nespresso as Lattes and Cappuccinos. This has enriched my daily coffee experience.

I love the flavor of Lavazza, but had issues with these pods not fully releasing the coffee in my Nespresso machine. My solution is to puncture a tiny hole on top immediately before inserting it. Worked well👍for me and I didn’t have to waste the pod, or the rest of them. I’d buy this again.

UPDATE: Lavazza and Amazon moved with great speed to fix the labeling error. Amazon quickly issued a refund for the incorrect box (with no necessity to return, which I thought was classy.) Lavazza also fulfilled the original order with the correct variety pack.
As everyone knows, it’s a challenge to find an affordable substitute for Nespresso Original Line capsules. Poor coffee quality, capsules that fail, “aluminum” capsules with a paper around the seal that clog the machine. Lavazza’s new aluminum capsules perform like original Nespresso. The only variety I didn’t like with the light roast Lungo, but I’m not a fan of light roasts. I don’t care for citrusy aftertaste, which was very low or non-existent in the Lavazza varieties.
I have found my Nespresso substitute, and kudos to Amazon and Lavazza for an excellent shopping experience.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I received a six-pack of all decaf and not the variety pack I ordered. Return or replacement requires going through Customer Service for this non-returnable item, because I was sent the wrong product. I decided to keep it because I like Lavazza decaf the best, and reorder the variety pack. I assumed Amazon just pulled the wrong item.
Here is the reason for the Beware! warning: I noticed that the label on the box from the manufacturer clearly states that it’s decaf, but the label on the item generated by Amazon IS for the variety pack. If you order around the same time as I did, you’ll likely get all decaf and not the variety pack. A review seemed to be the only way to alert shoppers.
Two stars because I like the quality of the coffee, and the error was not the fault of the manufacturer. I like that the capsules are now aluminum (I actually opened one – it is aluminum.) Not plastic, which I hate. I like that the capsules don’t have that cheap paper ring like some other Nespresso off-brands, that break off and clog the machine. These seem to work as well as Nespresso capsules, but it’s too early to tell if they all will work. And the price is great.
I will go through the hassle of contacting Customer Service and alert them to the error. Hopefully they’ll correct the wrong label. I already reordered before I discovered the error, but the Prime Day Price was just too good to pass up.

… and it’s nothing you can’t handle — and for the price and quality, it’s worth the slight hassle. The capsules have a tendency to fall straight through. Maybe 3 in 10 don’t get “grabbed” by the Nespresso system. You need to hold the capsule as you close the chamber and make sure it sits properly. Also, it’s labour-intensive to recycle the pods: I scoop out the coffee to go in the compost and put the plastic shells in the recycling bin.

This has a burnt coffee flavour which is not nice at all. Only saving grace is it’s not bitter. Compared to Nespresso coffee capsule its not nice. And I say this about most brands available in India that I have tried so far. I had hopes with Lavazza but alas

This review is for Lavazza Espresso Intenso Medium Dark Roast Arabica & Robusta Aluminum Capsules.
I have used a Nespresso Le Cube espresso machine for years. It makes a pretty good (not great) espresso drink quickly and conveniently. Not a premium espresso, but a very enjoyable one nonetheless.
And I have used many, many, different brands of capsules for that machine. A lot of them are quite bad. Either they don’t work reliably in the machine, or the flavor is not good. Some of them use flimsy plastic capsule housings that do not hold up. The original Nespresso capsules are still the best in my opinion. But they are also the most expensive. So I’m always on the lookout for a good sale on other good capsules.
These are good capsules. Very good. My second favorite brand of all the ones I’ve tried, not counting the original Nespresso capsules. The capsule housing is aluminum and has never failed in my machine. The coffee has a good flavor. If you can catch them on a good sale, as I did, buy them! Highly recommended.

I received a Nespresso machine for my birthday. I love the luxury of a latte every day and eventually told my husband that I’m not drinking the drip coffee anymore. He saw these pods on sale and convinced me to try them. I was afraid to buy a non-Nespresso brand but since we got them for a great price, I decided I had nothing to lose. I could make him drink them if I didn’t like them. I’ve tried all the flavors in the LaVazza variety pack and every one of them is delicious. This morning, I found myself reaching around the Nespresso pods for the last LaVazza espresso pod. I will absolutely order these again. I do have one tip… don’t put the decaf in with your regular coffee!! I drank several of the decaf on accident! They were delicious, but I need my caffeine! Next time I’m leaving the decaf in the box, so I don’t get mixed up.
